If Energy cannot be created or destroyed. Where did it come from.

Energy/Mass/Space-time from the Higgs Field33% Voted for by GaryCGibson, pnktrky.
Some 13.5 billion years ago (relatively speaking) there may have been a special field called the Higgs Field that was perfectly balanced and stable, and of nearly infinitely small size. Quantum uncertainty let it at some point become out of balance and it thus 'exploded' faster than light speed for a fraction of a second in what is known as the inflaton period. That inflaton was the early universe. The imbalances in the inflaton eventually expanded into galaxies and that is why there are clumps of matter condensing under the gravitational field.
*** Energy is just a name for the way mass/atoms/strings/fields etc. acts. The acting or doing of mass is called time. There may well be a time equivalent for the convertibility of mass and energy such as (e=mc2). Einstein's formula means that energy is equal to mass times the speed of light squared.
*** Everything that exists does exist, and the basic component of mass-energy cannot be destroyed, yet it might be drained away through a negative virtual particle dematerialization or leakage into another state of reality or universal 'dimension (s)'. All this stuff free floating in space (sort of) is locked into a particular space-time ordination or protocol that has the initial Higgs inertia behind it moving g it on.
*** Peter Higgs is a living physicist who invented the concept of the 'Higgs Field' that is sort of a very miniature universe packed smaller than a universe of angels on the head of a needle just waiting to become unbalanced, repel itself from something, and expand over 13.5 billion years into a universe with two dollar per double cheeseburgers at McDonald's. Media cow disease was one of the cruel ironies of the creation.
*** So the appearance of energy is the same as the appearance of anything at the beginning of the universe, if it had a beginning.
*** The qualitative aspects of the universe are what are most interesting as far as energy balances or budgets go. While energy cannot be created or destroyed certainly various forms can be created and destroyed...so one might say that forms have no energy, or that the energy is superfluous to the form, or that the relation of the form to the energy exists independently of the energy although the energy is important to the form.
*** Consider Barry Bonds the baseball player. He exists and clearly has energy, yet Barry was created and his form will be destroyed like that of everybody else eventually on their own time however paradoxically the energy that comprises the motive aspects of Barry Bonds wasn't created or destroyed but was instead encapsulated in part within his form during the duration of his playing career especially. Energy with steroid capsules could help Barry's form enact more energy rolls and so forth.
*** One needs to get beyond the particulars of energy being used in baseball players, stars or galactic motion and perhaps consider the largest assemblies of energy (that can become mass) such as what is believed to be the primordial Higgs Field underlying all of the space-time of the universe.
*** I should say that these ideas about the Higgs Field are essentially from popularized scientific ideas about M-Theory and Super-String Theory developed in the last few years. It is believed that the initial Higgs Field still exists in a larger and different field size and 'contains' the Universe.
*** The trouble with the Higgs Field concept is that it was developed to philosophically explain the origin of the energy-mass of the universe from what seems from physical artifacts to have been a big bang that commenced the universe long ago. The theory about the inflaton and even the big bang was developed to explain inconsistencies or gaps in the standard model of physics. The explanations of the history of the Universe are analogies in mat that parallel empirical observations with consistent modal logic extrapolations. Plainly they are 'segmented' explanatory theories to account for as much of the known world of experience as possible, yet they are plainly limited by the first turn in the road of the past history of the universe beyond which they cannot see or travel to find out.
*** Traveling backward in time independently of it to discover what existed before the inflaton and big bang is presently unfeasible, yet one day such may be possible, if anyone could or should want to travel outside of the Higgs Field underlying the universe.
*** M-Theory can postulate consistent mathematical models of pre-big bang scenarios such as multiple universes, recursive universes, recurrent universes, yet that is all they are. Physics seems limited to explaining the form of the universe rather than the energy or stuff of it for-itself.
*** It is as if cosmologists could describe Barry Bonds and the Giants playing baseball without being able to explain the physics of it with the energy. The energy of the Universe was just a given at some point before the known started, and attributing it to a gift from god is as reasonable as anything else. Physics so far as I know will have a more difficult time explaining the origin of energy that it's forms and histories in a given cosmic configuration.
*** Of course there are other philosophical paradigms about the Universe such as the Plotinic theory of neo-platonic forms and The One that is more about forms than causal explanations of energy.
*** The Universe could have a beginning as a form that is different than its having a beginning as energy. God could have unlimited personal energy yet it would be a non sequiter as far as differentiation from God to become some different 'substance' as energy to fuel the big bang--the Creator perhaps could adjust various forms subtly to allow a Universe to exist or seem to exist, with a real or apparent time value in order to satisfy the requirements for philosophical or politically dogmatic thought about the nature and history of the Universe.

^^Voted for by Null.
Mass = energy, whatever created mass also created energy.
It's much like the paradox as to why were are here

Well energy isnt exactly created and never really distroyed. so if we really look at it, it is converted. force of gravity pulls water through a turbine, turbine spins, a converter changes it from kinetic to electrical, which is transfered into our homes which is then run through appliances and moves into sound, motion, heat ect.
hmmm, its the resistance thing with the fading of energy. energy is stored.
well for a final answer - it comes from everywhere, our movement, gravity, breaking of molecular bonds. guess it is like god, has always been there, just hidden between the rocks at our feet and in the air we breath.
or you could say there is no such thing as energy, but just different laws converting into something we can harness.
tell ya the truth, i Donno.

God didVoted for by Makessenseright.
He must have, it had to have come from something outside of the natural laws with prohibit it's creation, something super-natural, God.
