It should be acceptable20% Voted for by tender-butterfly, birdlover06, sevaS-trA321, Antique Heart, -TheLoneWolf-. (9 total)
Well i think it is someone's sexual preference and that one shouldnt be discriminated against because of one's personal love life. Thus, it should be acceptable for each person to love who he/she wants to.

In America and most other places it is not. There are some other countries where it is much more accepted. I think we need to see some normal, mainstream homosexuals. How many actors, politicans, musicians, etc are upfront about their homosexuality? Not many.

Homosexuality or Not?11% Voted for by rushing river, Your mothers a cow, Forgotten Dust, -TheLoneWolf-, rockys8r.
I think that it is , but people dont wan't it to be.Personally im uncomfortable with it. I do not support homosexuality. And yet i have a homosexual friend that i support, but only because i know for a fact that he is truely gay. Others are claiming to be homosexual just for the attention and thats not kewl. All true homosexuals should kick these peoples a**'s

The U.S. is a long ways away6% Voted for by DryIce808, Weydon, Flying Phoenix.
If this nation were accepting of homosexuals, then the recent marriage proposal would not have been horribly shot down to pieces. That recent proposal shows how terribly homophobic the U.S. is.

Will never be accepted6% Voted for by PheonixTearz, Flying Phoenix, Avalin.
Because America can not seperate church and state like they are supposed to. Therefore the bible (no offense to christians) which who knows if its real or not tells us its unacceptable. your looking at words written hundreds of years ago and going, yes. This means I should condemn them to hell because they are in love. Im a morally better person because i just condemned them. "May the person free of sin cast the first stone..." Look how well people listen to their religion..

SHOW THAT YOU DO NOT GIVE IN.6% Voted for by sevaS-trA321, Flying Phoenix, Avalin.
Sexual preference should mean nothing. I do not hate any one just because of who they love. Growing up no one knew i was gay... now that people know they realize that it did not change who i was as a person. I am the same person whether you think I am gay or straight. And there is nothing wrong with my love life. People need to be more proud of themselves and show who they love even if they are they same sex. SHOW THAT YOU DO NOT GIVE IN.

homosexually tolerant?4% Voted for by sevaS-trA321, Flying Phoenix.
It is true the world is trying to be homosexually tolerant but the United States isn't Bush is trying to band same sex marriages EVERYWHERE in the U.S. THAT ISN"T fare. What happened to equality and pursuit of happiness? WHO AM I HURTING!!!

In ways...4% Voted for by NinelDuellen, Flying Phoenix.
The whole world is working towards being homosexually tolerant, but many people are still clinging to old Christian morals and beliefs, such as my family. There will never be a world where everyone is gay-tolerant. The most we can hope for is understanding.

WHAT FITS?Voted for by lovesGod.
A naked man and a naked woman....obviously they were built to fit together just right. I have nothing against homosexuals but I think it is not meant to be that way and I think it is caused by sexual abuse of children and perhaps other human things. I wish we could stop child abuse and all the things we do to make children prefer the same sex.

demographic?Voted for by Kayden S.
First of all, I am PERSONALLY OFFENDED by lovesGod over here (hate to burst your bubble lovesGod, but not everyone loves God. If fact, i'm not sure there is one). There is no evidence whatsoever that child abuse makes children prefer the same sex. It is uneducated persons like the one above that make this world such a hatful place. Anyway, I was going to say that I believe it depends where you live and what kind of people live there. There are people like lovesGod (hatful and unwilling to accept because they are just damn stupid) and there are other people (that love and want happiness regardless of physical gender). For example, I live in Southern California, the suburbs of LA and my sister is openly lesbian. We (my family, friends and neighbors) think it’s absolutely normal. I tell people, “whatever makes her happy”. By telling people being gay is wrong is like telling beating down on a minority. Every 1 in 10 person is gay. Count ten out of your friends and family. One of them is gay. Now you have a choice. Are you going to hate them? Or accept them for who they are? Exactly. So the world divides. As children we are educated with the ideas and perceptions of those around us. This is why I think it depends on demography. You’re more likely to accept gay people if you live in San Fran then if you live in North Korea. I’m sick of all this talk about homosexuals. They’re no different from anyone else. Leave them alone.

Ok, no need to bash on your thoughts or anything lovesGod, but I think you are wrong on so many levels. Homosexuality is not caused by child abuse 100%. It may be a small, very small percentage of a minority of homosexuals, but that is not even the icing on the cake. Every single homosexual I know is that way either because they are fed up with the opposite sex and find an easier way to bond with the same sex, or they just flat out think the same sex is sexy. But what every needs to learn is that, even if someone says NO, YOU CAN NOT MARRY THE SAME SEX! that won't stop anyone. People can bash and hate and curse homosexual people all they want. It may make some people uncomfortable, but that won't change anyones feelings towards someone they love. In most cases, gay people will love the person they are with 10 times more than half of the straight couples. What does it matter if someone is gay? More power to them. Don't like it, turn your head. But all the gay bashing has to stop, its just ridiculous. I grew up in California like Kayden S, and seeing a gay couple walking down the street was as normal as seeing a pizza place. Get over it everyone, it is no different than seeing a guy and girl walking down the street. And if homosexuality were truely accepted in America, then we would NOT have outraged protestors. People have trouble seeing a man and a man, or a woman and a woman together. Why, I honestly could not say. I think it is more socially acceptable for women then men, which isn't right. And that may be just what I have seen, but I have seen guys say, "Oh, lesbians? Thats hot" and turn right around and say "You wouldn't have to pay me to beat up a gay guy". So the whole controversy is a little twisted.

Two different questions.Voted for by Just Paper.
Is the question "Is it accepted?" or "Should it be accepted?"
Each have a different answer.
Question 1- No, it's not accepted. Stubborn people still go against the freedom they are trying to "protect".
Question 2- Yes, it should be accepted. Someones sexuality is their own business. It's their choice. Just like someone may like cats better than dogs.

I support homosexuality. If your a girl who likes girls, hey, me 2! If your a guy, i'm into anyone who will favor me. I won't let you do it, but i like the thinking behind it.

Agreed
I don't understand why people can't just except us. As a bisexual I feel that it is important to have equal rights on either side. I think that if a persons orientation is a means to judge we may as well go back to owning slaves, because it is just as cruel and unusual to torture african-americans as it is to torture us for something equally unchangable. Besides it's not like we chose to deal with the constant humiliation and agony of everyday life. For example, I live in a small LDS (mormon) community, people here are extremely unforgiving and these people do not except me, I am not allowed in any LDS church in this town because I will not disconnect form my sexuality. So in short, unexcepting people should relize that given the choice and no consequences from ourselves we would have chosen to be straight. (Some of us, not all)Please register or login to comment!
