God is dead!

  • God is Dead

"God is Dead" - Nietzsche. "Nietzsche is Dead" - God.

    No seriously folks,

People should stop relying on God for satisfaction and meaning. One should find meaning in themself. I'm an agnostic and my belief is that I don't know... and you know what? You don't know either.

  • Personally; No

universally; No. God is alive and infinite. Like a sphere of light rays, He has no beginning and no end, for he is not taxed by time itself. If time does not exist parallel to light, then there can be no beginning and no ending. Beginnings and endings are measures in time.

  • Neitze is dead

I fail to understand how rationality and the ideal world are not compossible. Indeed, the ideal world would be a rational one. So it would seem to me that the two cannot be separate. However, Neitze may have meant that the ideal world is not a rational idea. If that is the case, I believe he said that under misinformation. In one perspective, a great many things don't seem rational. But in another, they would be perfectly rational.

  • God is Dead?

Well I think Jesus would disagree.. and say.. "God is Dad"

But seriously... Jehovah God... alive in the minds of many but just not what I believe in. Cosmic God? Yeah I think thats feasible - I just don't think he's called Jehovah or Allah or even he.. probably more like an it.. or maybe several its.

  • God an it?

Yeah i believe god is an it. I just think it is arrogant for men to believe that we are made in "God's" reflection... I mean come on lets get over ourselves. Anyway if their is an all powerful infinite god he/she/it would be incomprehendable to us mere humans...

  • God is dead, and we killed him

We killed him with science and rationalism, he uses this statement to describe to atheistic atmosphere of western civilisation and its absurd decline.

Is there anybody out there who actually understands Nietzsche?

You all should be ashamed of yourselves..... (except for neverreturn, you seem to get it)

  • Of course, Nietzche was dead for a long time."God is dead!" too.

Of course, Nietzche was dead for a long time. For Nietzche, "God is dead" this statement is true as well!

I am not saying that rationality and the ideal world are not compossible. You are right that the ideal world would be a rational one and the two cannot be separate. What Nietzche means is that ideal world is exactly created by rationality. For Christianity, it believes that rationality is what God gives humans. And because of rationality, humans discard the apprarent world or say the world created by sensory experiences and long for the ideal world(for religious sense, it is heaven). Thus, rationality and ieal world are compatible. What Niezche wanna say is this world is chaos. No rationality and ideal world is possible. He thinks we should not follow any religious thoughts about ideal world and rationality of humans anymore. Contruct their own world and choose their own moral values.

Again, Nietzche said God is dead just mean ratiionality and ideal world is impoosible, his view towards God is positive indeed.

If someone is too stick to one way of thinking (e.g. religious way), he is too sensitive to any statements related to the negative side of so-called God, even the statement is itself not negative.

  • Insult the Uninsulted

The moronic part about this topic, is the faulty table that lies underneath. If you want to speak in political turns, then tell me when God was ever alive? Was he a man, a spirit? Or just God? For if he is just God, then surely he never would have lived on earth then died, went to heaven and sent his earthly brother to control the underworld right? I agree with the part, that God is dead because we killed him with science and being logical. But tell me, does everything have to be EXACTLY what you think? The Alpha and Omega, what exactly in terms does that mean to you? Rationality is a cause for superficial minds to come together and knock God of course with the edge of superstition. I believe in god, I believe he exists in everything, for he is and ceated everything. As a mind, spirit, figure and worthy enough for us to compromise within our soul. But its so confusing past tactics that to say he is dead is to also claim he is alive and well within the heart of every tought and man. God cannot be immortal as he is dead. But he cannot be mortal for he is alive. It is a paradox but a right one at that. God exists to watch ever person, your own moral, free will, and advertisement. If you think God of a species, then most cetatinly every species is its own god. "God Is Dead" its a wise quote but can be plausible on too many accounts. God is God, and whether he is dead or not, I have yet to hear from his own lips.

Cause if he is, then he certainly lived in the 3D world of aspect. And if he is alive then he lives in fire of light without the dark that he had banished his ulterior motive to. Either it be Adam, Eve, or Lilith, the truth is always condmened into many more trancing possibilities.

    So is he dead?

  • well...

    Im no philosopher.

What...you want more? fine. If God were to (help, speak to, appear to, make something known to) anyone directly, he would be the single most powerful man(woman, dog, being) on earth. No. In mortal existence. Is there a God? Exactly. If you were to know, not believe, but KNOW, you would be damned close to almighty. Faith without doubt. Interesting thought, nice concept. Mother Teresa has doubted God at least once, though maybe not directly. Jesus Christ himself was written in the bible to call out, at the moment of his death, aking why God has forsaken him. And Jesus is as perfect as people can get, or at least that's what I believe. Where I'm going with this is that if man knew God existed, they would not sin. They would basically do exactly what was necessary to get in to heaven. This would give them more power than any other. Not over others, but basically getting a get out of jail free card for the most important moment in mortal life. (assuming that the christian religion is correct, which it may not be) Judgement. Without doubt, there is no sin. You would skip right over judgement, straight into heaven because you would repent and never sin again the very moment you found out God existed. The other possibility is that there is and was no God, and life is all a couple of wasted years before sliding into an eternal, formless abyss. Absolute nothingness. Which is what it seems our beloved government seems to want. But seeing as how all beliefs (including evolution) concerning the creation of existence fall under the category of religion, they all have a fair chance of being right. Is God dead? No. If he ever did exist (I believe he does) then he still does, but if he doesn't exist, then he isn't dead because he never did exist. Make sense? If not, try asking someone who knows (cares) about philosophy.

Wow that's blind. God is not dead. Why are the trees still growing and how could you have posted this? If God were dead you wouldn't be here and neither would the people you love. God is not dead because action is constantly taking place. The birth of my nefew? That's God. Getting a hunch? That's God speaking to you. You're feeling blue but you open your window and nothing but a gentle breeze makes it's way in? That's God. Having a great meal and a place to sleep? Oh yeah that's God!

  • Gods Not Dead. Dont Get Stupid

If God was dead then satan would have taken over the world and made it Hell already. And if you think " Oh well why did he make all these wars happen?" Well let me tell you about a magical little thing we humans call FREE WILL! We started the wars, we started global warming, we started everything. God is here to protect us from evil, not from ourselves.

  • Here it is again

If there was nothing but void and God before he created, then , there was nothing to use to create with except himselfe , therefore, being nothing more than the movement of nurons in the mind of God , if he were dead, nothing but absolute void would exist, ourselves not excepted
