My opinion is based largely on personal experience as well as on some extensive reflection. It's not very original, but I believe it's true and so it doesn't matter to me. I believe that the Bible is true from "In the beginning God created" to "Amen." I believe Jesus is God and the one and only way to Heaven. I don't believe that Mary "Madelin" and the "blesed" mother are the same person, as you point out, that's crazy, they just happen to share the same first name. It believe that there is a Hell and that many people will choose to go there. I say that this is from personal expience because I know Jesus, and I have found His word the Bible to be true in everything that I could test. So why not believe it when it talks about stuff that I can't personally see like stuff that happened 2000 years ago? Maybe your right, in which case we'll both end up compost anyway. Maybe I'm right, in which case I'll go to Heaven, and you need to make a choice before you die. Either way I come out at least equal.

My background, religiously anyway, is kind of... strange. I don't know exactly what i believe. I am not Agnostic or Atheist, I believe largely in the Wiccan/pagan values, but something still tugs at my mind when it comes to Catholicism (SP?) I was raised Roman Catholic, but somethings fit, while others didn't. I'm a confusing person when asked about what I believe, because in my panthenon I bring in many different deities. Therefore, I merely reply that I have faith in whoever is up there, and that as long as I have faith, I will be fine.

I believe my mystical background, with my father practicing Quabala and my mother a Wiccan, is mostly true. I believe the basis for both religions, spirit and energy, do exist. I've seen too much that cannot be explained otherwise.

Atheists are a little contradictory on stuff like thisVoted for by UpsideDownFrown.
Whenever I look at one of these philosophy deals about religion, whenever its' written by an atheist, it always proceeds something like this:
"Tell me your views on religion, how it relates to humanity, and why you believe what you believe. Say whatever you want, just represent your religious views. Oh, don't try to convert anyone."
Do they realize that the fundamental tenants of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam ALL dictate that every member of that particular faith is a missionary? The act of conversion IS part of that particular religion. Don't pretend that you can't extoll the virtues of conversion and still get the point across effectively.
By the way, I'm an atheist, so allow me to make my assertion: Humanity is IT, baby. Every major and minor religion is wrong, that simple. I am morally opposed to Buddhism but as it isn't a deism I can't flat-out say that I think its' wrong, but for every deistic system, from mono- to poly-, I believe them to be incorrect. See? That's how it should be: a straightforward assertion of belief, not a halfway-point discussion. I love hearing other peoples' views, not a watered down, PC version.

my opinion is highly scientific, because scientists can prove what they say and religious athoritys can only tell you to wait until your in heaven or hell ect. i belive that some things from religions may have happened and just been exadrated. there had to be some reason that people started counting the years. honestly it was most likely when people realised how many sun rises it takes from the each equanox. but hey that dosnt mean jesus crist wasnt born. some people that i know belive that mary madelin and the blesed mother wer the same person. (how can you be a whore and a vergin at the same time?) or maby the 'virgin mary' accadentaly got pregnant and was to embarised to tell her family so she said that god gave her this son as a saveior. or mabe none of it happened (most likely)

You know, if you are going to ask people to talk about whether they feel that their religion is true, then you must be prepared for some of them to want to convert you - especially when you claim to be an Atheist. The point of most major religions is to try and convert others, because ALL of them feel that their religion is the "true" religion.
That being said, here's what I think. I myself am an eclectic Wiccan. I believe in a little bit of Buddhism, a bit of Shamanism, a bit of Wicca, and a bit of other things. Personally, I feel that there isn't really a true religion out there. If there was one true religion, then the others wouldn't exist. My philosophy is to just live your life as morally good as you can. I fully believe in karma (or, in Wicca its called the three fold law), where whatever you do comes back to you as much or more as whatever you did, whether it be good or bad. It doesn't really matter whether you believe in God, or Allah, or Kali, or don't believe in anyone at all. If you are a good person, then when you die, you will go to a good place. If you are a bad person, then you will go to a bad place when you die.
-shrugs- That's how I see it, anyways. ~Nikki

i was raised a catholic and forced to go to catholic school and i love to think about religion and if there is a god. at this point in my life, it seems to be that there isn't just becuase of all the bad crap that happens. but then again, everytime i get into trouble i pray, it doesn't help, but i still do it. i dont know if that is just out of habit or if i actually do believe subconciously. does that make sense?

Me..I was raised as quite a devote Christian. Going away to camps and stuff during Easter and such like. And even though I'm only 15, my mind is all in a jumble.Voted for by tomwc.
Since i am forced to go to Church by my parents this has imprinted quite a negative view on Christianity for me. It feels more of a chore than an actual belief. But with this said i still, try to, hold on to the Christian principals and, this may sound stupid, try not to offend God even though i don't fully believe in him. I also like the concept of Buddhism and what little of it I have researched i seem to enjoy and understand. -
im mexicanby definition im a Catholic. i grew up not going much to church. but at was do to my parents not going. as time past my dad (the one who drives) began to go more often. to the point where they go every sunday now. i have naturally always questioned everything. i believe that you cannot hold a true belief unless you question it over and over again. or else you are just blind. at this point in my life i believe myself to be catholic and devout... even though i havent gone to mass in about a month. that is because i believe that if your not going to pay attention you might as well not go. im going through a hard, unstable, and future deciding time for the past 2 years and counting. this ofcourse makes me question my faith and therefore grow in my faith. now for the most important part which is what i believe. i believe that jesus was true love incarnated as a man. since true love is God, and God is true love. therefore jesus is God. not because he was the son of God but because he was Love. he showed us the true path to follow which is Love. if i were talking to a christian i would say... he came down from heaven and said one thing "Love". and love is an action verb. so in the end religion doesnt matter only the love you have matters. quoting jesus time: "He who follows my commandments is my brother" and what where his only two commandments ever mentioned in the bible by his own mouth; "love God with all your heart, mind, streangth and soul" and "love your neibor as yourself." following logic anybody who holds a superior being to be important in there life and has love towards his fellow humans is a brother to christ himself irrelevent of which faith or lack of faith they may have. although i may even go as far as to say that faith in God himself is not necessary. only true love. and it would take days to properly explain true love... because true love incompases all and everything.Voted for by pnktrky.

My opinion
My background is many things.....My rents are Christian and so is the rest of my family.....But I have seen too much to believe half of what their damn book says....I believe in Higher beings and Lower beings....I believe in a realm of death....but to say that there is an all-powerful 'God' and he is perfect....Bullshit....I'm better off believing I'm immortal...Which I'm not...
Personaly I believe that there is a lifeforce flowing within everthing....we are just part of it....Right along the "demons","angels", and "gods"....We are no different from any of them....
