The mathematical odds say no: There are hundreds of billions of stars in our own galaxy, the Milky Way, and hundreds of billions of galaxies in the universe. Close to home, scientists have already discovered 150 planets orbiting nearby stars.
In short, scientists say the universe is likely full of places where the conditions are ripe for intelligent life to evolve. The really big question is when, if ever, we'll have the technological wherewithal to reach out and touch such intelligence?

Even if they're there would we want to?50% Voted for by Makessenseright, I try.
I don't know, we have enough problems of our own. If they are out there it would be likely that they would contact us first. Because scientists say that we are really a very young spiecies. Again the question is, would they want to contact us?

The odds that we're alone are ridiculous. The odds of us reaching any planet outside our solar system anytime soon, barring some incredible (and irrational
) discovery in space travel are almost as ridiculous. But if we could, it would be awesome to explore the universe. Aside from worries of diseases we're not used to, the idea of meeting new people is very exciting to me. Even on Earth--like when they found the bones of those hobbit people or whatever lol. HomoFloretioadahfsdf something. They've died out, but coexisted with our own existence, even using tools and stuff. There were local tribes legends about them but they were dismissed until then. Imagine if we found another sentient life? So much is implied.
