Does the rational being need to be religious? Why is it so important being religious? Is it only because the majority on this globe are religious we have to be religious?...

Indeed mankind is in search for perfection!Voted for by baseeji.
The human wants perfection of all kind! Perfect wisdom, perfect physical being, perfect health, everlasting life. To say it short, being perfect in all ways!
Its an undenial fact that if you search for perfection you need wisdom! Knowlegde regarding how to become perfect, what to do, and what not to do!
Now discussing perfection we can see that a table becomes perfect when you call it a table! It has 4(normally)legs, a plate and voila here you have a perfect table. If it had 4 legs and no plate it would not be called a table and therefore it would no be perfect! Just as a tree would be perfected when it grows big and green and gives fruits!
The "human being" can therefore also become a perfect human being! What does a "perfect human being" mean? Answer, when this imperfect being works hard in every aspects of life and achieves his perfectuality he will be "the perfect human being".
Its the natural lust, wanting, love, that mankin is in search for perfection.
So the first step towards perfectuality would be to know what is good for one and what is baad for one. What is needed to become perfect and what one should refrain from! like what to eat, say, etc.etc.
Now we all know that religions do tell us what to refrain from and what to do. take the eating as example! in jewism and islam we are not allowed to eat pork why? (since the creator being perfect this question doesnt need to be answered as the perfected wants the best for his creations) its baad for the body!
Excellent i need that kind of info. so that i know what not to eat on my journey to become "perfected", and what i can eat and is not harmfull for me!
this is just 1 example of why it is important to have information of religions!
Eyeh you who is not perfect yet and indeed are in search of it find the truth and search for the religion who is perfect so that you could be perfected!

Technically, rationality and faith are in contradiction...Voted for by UpsideDownFrown.
There are two different ways you can go with the "rationality versus religion" argument. To me, they are as follows:
1. You can't combine the two: Rationality is reason and absolute fact. Religion requires faith, which is the antithesis of fact. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, its' a simple matter of definitions: Rationality, being characteristic of logical observation and factual certainty, should not try to be coupled with a faith-based assertion on religion.
2. You CAN combine them, because it would be rational to join a religion for social and psychological reason. Faith may be illogical, but the personal benefits of joining a religion are highly logical.
I happen to agree with number one much, much more, but then again I don't live in a religiously oppressive part of the world, so the benefits don't outweigh the detractions. But that basically how it goes: at its' core, rational man can not be religious, but the social extension of such a man can be.
