The Death Penalty should be legal. Instead of having the people rot in jail put them to death.
A lot of people are against this. But, really, it makes sense. I want to know your opinion.

1. It costs a lot of money to keep convicts alive. Money we could be using to help each other. Money we could be using to better educate our the youth of America. Money we could using to do more, constructive, positive things instead of keeping murderers and terrorists alive. We could be using that money to help the many homeless hobos that wonder the streets, but we would rather use that money to help keep criminals alive. I am not saying that we should kill every convict, but it should be legal
2. You can't make anyone feel guilty about their actions, so most people who qualify for the death penalty (murders, psycho bombers, etc.) aren't going to learn their lesson. For example, it is believed in certain denominations of Islam that if you kill someone who is not a Muslim, you will be rewarded in Heaven. Why do you think the there is constant warfare in the Middle East? Because those two different denominations of Islam (I can't remember their names) are always trying to kill people of the other denomination. The terrorists (if there really were terrorists, which I personally believe it was all set up by the gov.) who flew the planes into the Twin Towers thought they were going to get rewarded for killing people they thought to be evil.
3. Think about it. We pay for convicts to live but often we won't give a dime to a hobo. A homeless relative of mine once robbed a store with a rusty bucher knife. When the cops caught him, he dropped the knife and gave in very easily. He had only taken about $20 from the store. If I was a homeless hobo and couldn't find a job or pull myself together somehow, I would have done the same thing. I would rather rot in a prison cell over a 20 year period than rot on a street corner over a 20 day period.

We should not use the death penalty, as i can see no good reason for using it and I believe killing somebody is backward.

Ok I understand your oppion but hear me out.. Lets just say someone kills another person, now if you just kill them too then they got off pretty easy. BUT, if you make them rot in jail for LIFE then they will have to live with the fact that they took someone elses life. But the thing with this is jail needs to get more strict on these people. No outside time just in the cell rot time. Make that peorson live with what they did and live with it without ever seeing the outside AGAIN!

I am a God fearing christian and God believes in the death penalty and so do I. The only problem with our daeth penalty is that it takes too long to get it done. God promises to raise all who have ever lived and they will be given the opportunity to repent and do it His way. An unrepentant murderer who cannot be rehabilitated and is a constant threat to society should be put to death as quickly as possible. It is merciful to him/her to do it quickly and it is beneficial to the community that doesn't have to worry.

death is inevitable...Voted for by minoomalik.
It's the most debatable and scariest of the topics. I believe in death penalty not for the reason - eye for an eye, but the only reason for not prolonging the imprisonment for several lives when the convict is never going to see the other side of the walls as long as he/she will live. And, be cautioned there are many souls rotting in jail or wrongfully accused because the prooves can be tampered & created. Can you live with yourself if you are the reason for letting an innocent soul go wasted with death penalty, I sure can't. However people like Texas chain saw killer, need and should be given death penalty, but we got to be very very very sure before signing off on someone's death penalty...be very sure.

I believe there are some crimes that actually warrant the Death Penalty. Australia no longer has it but in the case of Anita Cobby the 4 men who brutally tortured, mutilated and murdered her should have been put to death. How is it that 4 people can do such a thing together and not one of them stands to say, "No, this isn't ok". Keeping them in prison is only using up our taxes, keeping them away from other prisoners because they may be hurt or tortured themselves. Do we really care if they are after what they did. Put them to sleep like the mongrel dogs that they are. The death penalty should be used when GUILT is proven beyond doubt. I realise in some cases the wrong person was put to death and this raises the question of how moral is the death penalty. Yes it takes time, but this often ensures that the correct person is put down. The number of INNOCENT people put to death is greater when the death is brought about by a murderer rather than the state.
