There is a death metal band named cannibal corpse, who write songs available to read from the link below- particular horrors include necropedophile and butchered at birth.
Go on to the page click 'music' then choose lyrics all songs are roughly the same, then prepare to throw up...
This is shocking material - I would not advise anyone below the age of 16 to read this!
So should this sort of thing be allowed in music?

They just want attention for pushing the edge.

Yes that music should be allowed!24% Voted for by Boudica, Weydon, Dienush, Oral Fixation, Benedictum. (6 total)
Sorry but you forget, you censor one thing, you can censor another. I never heard their music, but I don't care what they sing. Its their right. I personally don't care for racist music, christian rock, country, etc... yet I don't believe they should ever be illegal. I never believe in messing with freedom of speech EVER!

Overreact much?Cannibal Corpse has a right to say anything they want. And I wouldn't want to see that taken away from anyone. If you don't like Cannibal Corpse's music, don't listen to it. But no one should be able to censor it. Yes, it contains lyrics that are not very orthodox, but I assure you, Cannibal Corpse isn't killing anyone with songs. As for those of you who believe music somehow makes you an evil person, I personally am open to many forms of music. I listen to the oldies, punk, metal, jazz, etc. and yes, I do listen to Cannibal Corpse. I even saw then live not too long ago. And no, I don't have urges to hurt, maime or kill.16% Voted for by Weydon, Patrick1, Benedictum, AlaskaMoleman.

ooh, look at me, I think I know what's right for people.
I can't imagine the people of Cannibal Corpse writing as a means to express themselves. And their Deep, misunderstood core which has been the cause of so much unnecessary toils for so long *sigh* I joke.
THen again what the hell are you trying to hide, and from kids? I'll bet you wouldn't say the word VAGINA near young people!
don't you KNOw this is wrong? And it's so OBVIOUSLY wrong! Come on, necropedophilia? Lots of bands talk about that, in the same way that young boys joke about those subjects in school. Socialised Hatred, I think is what people call it. Good? not as bad as HIDING IT FROM PEOPLE. And much, much easier too.

Gone too far...8% Voted for by petethemeat, Makessenseright.
I am not a fan of censorship but for me this crosses the line. They may claim to be simply writing songs but i cant see why they have to be this obscene. I belive their should be some different legislation against this sort of material.

I like metal, I like rap, I listen to ICP, They have violence in their songs, but it isnt serious. I have listened to this bands music, I have read their lyrics. This is the most disgusting music i've ever had the pain of hearing. Raping a dead child is a terrible and horrid crime and should not be turned into entertainment for a bunch of goths and satanists. Recently a 8 year old girl was raped and murdered by a sick son of a bitch in a shopping centre toilet. Will they write a song about that? Glorify it? Just to please some sick people out there who get off on that sort of thing? I seriously hope that this band is shut down and their music never to be released into the public again.

cannibal corpse isnt that big of a mainstream band. they dont get that much exposure and they certainly arent aired on any radio stations and very scarcely on any music televison stations. the band started out in the 80's basically doing what they have been. alot of metal bands have lyrics pertaining to the same content. especially black metal and death metal. cradle of filth, dimmu borgir, in flames, massacre, mayhem (who actually killed eachother because they operated on an evil scale - true story), and many more. its not about lacking in talent or having to over compensate for a lack of confidence. its about having crazy ideas and getting those ideas out.
cannibal corpse - my history teacher was the bassist for the band back when they started out in NY. he wasnt allowed to tell us the name of his band because of the content but eventually people found out. writing a song with those lyrics is no different than producing a common horror film depicting or suggesting the acts. rob zombie's films. john waters films. snuff films in general. no one cares about pushing the edge anymore because honestly, to push the edge an artist only has to breathe and they're censored. gore and violence attracts people. forbidden acts intrigue. and thats why people write lyrics like that - because they're fascinated by it.
alot of people banned marilyn manson from doing concerts in their state or county. its not even the content of his songs, its just the appearence of him taht gives people the wrong idea. cannibal corpse, if truly going to push the edge, would most likely dress up in some get-up like slipknot and GWAR. they'd get a better attention spike that way. jeans and t-shirts dont excite the mass.
but to ask if it should be allowed is rediculous. people pass off the actual crimes while spending all their time to stunt artistic visions. and no matter how gruesome to the public, they are just that: artistic visions. let it be how it is and if it bothers you, dont read it or listen to it.

If they like it...Voted for by CrazyRebel.
They can write it. Their music sucks, though. If you don't like it, don't listen/read it.
P.S. Some people have stronger stomuchs than others. Yes it is nasty, but then again, some people like that kind of gore.
