Emo people are hypocrites!

People my age tend to dress in tight clothes and say that they are Emo. These tight clothes and died hair are supposed to show that they are constantly angry or sad about their life. People who dress like this are such hypocrites because they have so many friends. Most of the people who dress like this are pretty happy with their lives. Emo is short for emotional and I think that if you're not happy with your life then you have the right to wear the Emo stuff. The definition for Emo means to be dreppressed or angry. I don't think anyone should dress in those clothes if they are content with the way their life is. People who dress like that are misusing the word emotional. What do you think?

  • oh my god
if i hear one more person that is so caught up in the whole emo thing i am going to blow! Who cares what they wear and how they feel about their life. They might wear the clothes becuase their friends do and they think its cool, they may wear it because they want to let the world know that they are depressed human beings. It doesn't matter. Why does everyone care? They can wear whatever they want and this whole deal that only certain people can wear certain clothes... what is wrong with you?! leave them alone. they are clothes and the fact that all of these stereotypes are revolving around a pair of tight jeans and hair styles is completely stupid. Get over it and get over yourself

  • Get Over It

Alright so first off after you hit the age of say 18 or maybe 20 depending on your maturity level (sometimes younger) just about when you hit college it all stops mattering. Emo becomes an annoying thing your kid sister does. The style of clothing still exists, and so does the music. But once out of high school the distinction between emo, punk, prep and whatever else disappears and people blend from group to group. You still have people doing crazy green hair but they don't call themselves anything. Do what you want, be what you want but stop putting stupid labels on everything. It's so high school. Honestly my friends and I (all college age) all laugh at the emo fad going around (yes it is a fad, just like grunge was) and we all find it the most hilarious thing, that people are so passionate over a label. True emotions and style don't need a label. They simply are.

And as far as emotions go, first off every teenager has hormones and every human being deals with a variety of human emotion. Second a 12 or 13 year old usually does not have the problems in life to truly hate life, so that particular idea seems ridiculous. Yes there are abused kids, but I'm willing to bet the good majority of emo kids aren't in that category, they just don't have a boyfriend/girlfriend and their parents yell at them. Get Over It! Every teen lives it, stop being so dramtical.

Dress how you want to. Listen to whatever music you want. But stop labeling yourselves to get attention. It's name, and it's stupid.

  • Being emotional

This does not necessarily mean sad only, but means emotional rollercoaster. Has nothing to do with friends or no friends. Personally I believe *Emo*, like all other genres of music; has valuable things to say or enjoy.

As for Hypocrisy: The Bible teaches us that all men are hypocritical by nature and can only strive to improve this with age and wisdom.

  • And?

Be careful when attaching fashion with personality. There is no sacred uniform that happy people can't wear. If someone wants to wear "tight clothes and say they are Emo" let'em have at it.

  • Nonsense

It was never about being "Emo", this is simply a label that has been stapled onto the people who generally are spoiled, narcissistic, and generally vain, Yes, Vain.

You dont have to dress in tight clothes to be that way, and I agree on the part about not stapling the fashion to the personality by the first commenter, but, when you go out of your way to squeeze in with a group of people, people tend to lose themselves and make it a part of themselves. They cant be emo if they dont have their emo threads.

I say, if you want to see real pain, then move to a third-world country, put up with drug-lords, starvation, and deprivation, and I'll take you seriously Mr. Emo.

  • Calm down antiemo people.

Emo means depressed or angry. If you are emo you pretty much hate life. Most emo people are okay around other people but break down when they are by themselves. You can't keep up with them. The clothes don't make them emo.Just because someone dresses emo, dosen't mean they are or are trying to be.A lot of people think it's a trend.Cut your hair really short, have it in your face, dye it, tight jeans, tight shirts. But they are all wrong.I'm not emo and people who try to be it can do what they want. This is insulting to me.Have you guys ever thought that maybe that was their personality? They might seem depressed and that dosen't mean they are emo.You underestimate them.Your lives are all perfect while they are sitting at home alone. They have an awful life. They want to kill themselves but are afraid. Most of them are teenagers. You know why?they are not sissys. They have real problems like most of you "adults".You must not be very adult if you are on this pathetic website ragging emo people.I'm 13 years old.And right now I sound more adult that you.And to that one person who said 12 and 13 year old don't have real problems-your wrong.Everyone I love has left me.They don't care. They don't even think of me.I'm not emo, but I love the music and my best friend is emo.I will say this:Emo is not a trend. It's a feeling. So all of the frauds out there:stop and be yourself.

  • Hum....

Emo people are not always hypocrites. I know a lot of poser punks, skaters, even preps. (for my class, it seems the preps are posing as skaters and punks, becasue they think they can) But emo does stand for emotional. That does NOT mean, I hate my life, I'm gonna go cut myself! No, that would be depressed. Emo is simply emotional. As most 14 year old girls are. Most depressed emo people I know dress like most people do, in hopes of becoming popular, and one of the "in" crowd. That doesn't mean they have a lot of friends, it doesn't mean they have few. It means they are unhappy with their life as they know it. So, the people you know birdlover06, are a little mixed up in what they are posing as. I wear tight pants. I am not a depressed emo, although I can be emotional. I think of myself as a punker, or someone in the 'scene' crowd. Maybe you should tell your poser friends that they are trying to be punks, not emos.

  • Who cares?

Why should you care about what other people do? If that's what they want to do, then you can try to stop them, go ahead. It might not work however. And not all emo people are hypocrites. Who cares though, if they want to do that, they can. Being sad and depressed these days is somehow 'in'. I can't figure out why, but people have emotions. Most want attention too. But why can't we just be happy with what we have? I'm not saying put a smile on everytime your depressed. I'm saying DONT STAY THAT WAY FOR THE SAKE OF STAYING THAT WAY. How boring is that? Neway...you shouldnt care what emo's do. It's they're life. Just put simply. It has no effect to you.
