If god were real most christians would agree that he is all knowing, this alone creates many paradoxes but one of the strongest and most condemning is what it implies about gods motive. If god were all knowing i think it would be safe to assume that he knows from the time of birth whether an individual is condemned to hell or heaven. This logic alone makes me seriously question gods intent in creating someone just to be damned. It sort of paints a picture of a sadistic god. Then again some christians would counter with that these people who were pre condemned are essential for a true experience on earth. This logic at least to my understanding still involves a great deal of sadism in that innocent people who never asked to be created are now being condemned to an eternity of excruciating pain. The only rebuttal that christians could say is that these individuals do not have the ability to feel pain in which raises the question of the purpose of hell in the first place?
Anyone have anymore godly paradoxes?

What Paradox??25% Voted for by frndofyaweh, Energizer Bunny, Spade-Dragon.
A loving God would give the child a choice, to change him or herself, even if that Loving God knew the outcome already. The choice to believe on Faith alone and not on evidence that forces you to see the truth. Although Father knows what your choice will be in the end; He still must allow you that choice. __________________________________________________________ If God jumped out at you and said "BOO! Look at my awesome power and presence! NOW choose to believe or not?...and scared the unholy heebiejeebies out of you; Would you feel you had a choice anymore? __________________________________________________________ Condemned to a bottomless pit and absence of God and it was there choice. __________________________________________________________ Jesus hinted at Fathers intentions, but we must always remember that God Is super intelligent and knows more about this than our human brains can comprehend.
__________________________________________________________ Matthew 13:24-30. God is a gardener; seperating the weeds from the good crop. The good crop will be saved and used for something wonderful, beyond our imaginations.

Another paradox or two16% Voted for by BluBoy, bowmore bill.
Ok, twist your minds around this. Christianity appeared as a jewish sect in the first century AD. That's history's first mention of it. Period. It had no followers before then beause of its absence as a religion. Humanity is believed to have begun its existance between 200,000 and 250,000 years ago. Even if that is not accurate, science has proven that humans existed far into the BC's. Now, if that's the case, thousands, if not millions, of humans died never knowing your god. Does that not condemn them for paganism and other nature religions? They would have what christians consider "false gods." If your god were merciful, or even existed, why would he condemn that many innocent people because they were unaware of him? Secondly, All of the bible was written by Jesus' many Friends and desciples. So, I'm supposed to put my life and eternity in the hands of something someone's friends wrote?

god sucks16% Voted for by aztec ghost, Luciferschild.
if you have a free will, then there is no such thing as a destiny because you decide what you do with it.
if there is a destiny there is no free will, and humanity is reduced to something similar to a movie that you can watch and not change... then what's the point of being?
if god is all knowing he knows every single thing you will ever do in your life. then there is no free will.

Yet....Voted for by Boudica.
this apparent christian god of yours already knows what choices we make and why we make them. To be honest if this god really wants people to make the right choices, shouldn't not releave itself to the world? I'm not talking about stores in the bible and the myths behind it. If it wants to make itself know it would make itself know with no question. But something else you should think about it. The christian god isn't the belief in a god. There is really no more evidences of the christian god than there is of any other god. Its merely the more commical belief in western culture.

Your logic, even though I can see how you might misunderstand, is wrong in reference to this issue. He does not create someone just to be damned.
***Then again some christians would counter with that these people who were pre condemned are essential for a true experience on earth.***
First of all no one is pre-condemned. God does not use us like pieces in a chess game.
***The only rebuttal that christians could say is that these individuals do not have the ability to feel pain in which raises the question of the purpose of hell in the first place?***
Goodness, your reasoning is getting WAY out there in left field
but I respect your right to question it. -
Another ParadoxVoted for by Luciferschild.
Most christians believe that god is all knowing. Also most christians belive that god has emotions in fact there are many verses in the bible which attribute love, hate, and other emotions to god. The point is that emotions are a result of imperfection in that we have no control over them. If we did have control over them they wouldnt be real. For example, once you truly love someone you cannot honestly stop, it is beyond your control. To say that god loves us is to imply that there is something in the universe in which god cannot control. Which is to say that god is not all powerful which directly contradicts one of the fundamental attributes of a christian god, omnipotence.

No Paradox If He Knows ONLY ONE Thing: GodVoted for by david13.
The paradox is reconciled if God only knows one thing: God. Think about that. In terms of numbers, He would only know Number 1. He wouldn't even know His originator: 0, nor all the numbers after 1 that go into infinity. God only knows Himself. Who here knows God? Have you had a drink with Him lately to find out who He is? You never met Him so all you know about Him is from hearsay and your own imagination. The only possible person who could know God is one who IS God. If you can find out the ONE thing that God knows then you, indeed, are Him, yourSelf.
