The worst hell is Heaven

So, here's what I've been thinking. Heaven is an eternal land of joy and bliss and happiness, right? Well, when you get there, all you're questions get answered...I think. And after that you have an eternity to enjoy whatever pleasures you want. You can do anything you can think of. Sounds spiffy. But then think about how long eternity is. It's like playing FFVII for the 17th time. It's just not that much fun. Imagine being made to play the same game, enjoy the same gifts, even after they've been played out. Well, in heaven, you get everything right away, so you run out of fun stuff to do pretty damn quick. Then there's the whole, everlasting love, and being in the presence of God thing. Once you know everything, and all your questions have been answered, God won't even have anything that you don't...except power over you which you can't take. So, you're left with nothing to do, but bask in the glory of the one thing you can't have. Not for a hundred years, but for eternity. Sounds like hell to me. Now think about the other hell, the one with fire and demons and stabby things everywhere. That one sucks real bad right from the start. But...you don't know for sure if you're ever getting out. There's still doubt. Nobody's down there telling you the secrets of the universe, they're just sodomizing you with automatic weapons and making you watch porn with Rosie O'Donnel. I know....pure hell. Well, while you're there you can still think about how cool it will be when you get out. And you can make up crafty little plans to escape, even if they never work, you're busy. Which sounds a lot less hellish to me than being knowledgeable of all things, and damned to not ever be able to do another worthwhile thing for the rest of eternity. Hmmm...yeah, this is pretty rough. I wrote a story that might help clear things up, but I haven't posted it yet, when I do I'll put a link to it on here so anyone interested can get a better understanding of what I'm thinking. -blake

and here's where you can find that story I was talking about- http://storywrite.com/story/show/47523 it's a bit long, but I think I make my point.

  • I don't agree

God isn't going to tell us everything....He is keeping stuff to Himself. The fact is, once we are in Heaven, we won't need to know everything. There will be tons of stuff to do there, and so many people that we'll want to talk with, it will take a long time. And if you would have done your research...you would find that in Revelation, God is going to destroy hell, and everyone in it will die a second death. A very painfull second death. You raise a good point tho, and I admire your creativity with this. I could actually kind of see you sitting there planning a way to get out of hell. I understand your reasoning, however I dont agree with it. -Liz

  • I find both to nothing more than mythology.

Well I always wondered, with heaven since there are so many things that aren't allowed. Sex without procreation is a sin. So out with that. There are debates about what kind of music would be welcome. Some say that rock n roll is the devils music and if that is so, there goes most of the music I enjoy. Well thats going to suck. What exactly can you do in heaven? When you think about your soul purpose is to worship god. To praise it and thank it for it creating you to worship it. Hmm... So its like a never ending church ceremony, that NEVER ends. Boring as hell if you ask me. But what can I say. I personally don't see the point. Even if its so wonderful, what great new exploration is there up there? I don't believe in heaven or hell. I find both extremely man made. Its based on humen wishes and fears. People wish to be in comfortable climits, well fed, rejoined with lost loved ones and in a place where EVERYONE agrees with them. No change, no differences of opinion, no debates, no free thinking, no free will... Then when you look at hell what is it? Its suppose to be a hot land of fire with someone inflicting torture on you ever second you are there. Kinda like what they use to do during the inquistion. What everyone back in the middle ages feared most. To be imprisioned, abused, starved, etc... Again to me this sounds way too man made for me to take seriously.

  • it's only your vision of heaven

If you ask 10 persons what heaven is, you will get 10 different answers. The concept might be simillar, but details will vary depending on personal wishes and beliefs. People who believe in the existence of heaven tend to observe it as a reward for living a "good" life. I believe that the hold idea of heaven rises as a stimulus for humans to avoid sins/immoral things. Thus it wouldn't make sense for an individual to percieve heaven as something that is not worth trying for, he/she would rather shape it in something that better fits his/hers vision of perfect life.

  • People in Hell

I think the people in Hell are more interesting than the pious people in Heaven. Imagine, spending an eternity with Pat Robertson and Mother Theresa! Hitler and Stalin are evil, but they would be more entertaining.

  • No Hell

There is actually nothing biblically that supports a hell. Its been proven time and time again that hellfire is more of man made philosphy then a actual bible fact.
