Should we legalize it?

Most people today think that marijuana is a horrible drug that turns the teenagers of today into mindless idiots. I for one, think that is a load of crap. What are your views on the subject? Should it be legalized?

They take it anyway. Well, those who want it. I think they should be just warned. But the decision is theirs. So I think there shouldn't be a law against using it.

  • Tabacco wouldn't allow it.

While it is pretty hard to determine when a drug is more good than harmful, I would say marijuana falls into the category of being harmful. For people who are experiencing severe pain and/or terminal illness, then it could be used effectively. But to legalize it solely for recreational use is wrong. Still, the biggest reason that it is illegal is not because it is harmful--it's because the big Tobacco companies would lose money. If there is one thing the government knows in this country, it is not to piss off the tobacco, guns, or booze companies. So while cigarretes are more addictive and deadly than marijuana, it is unlikely that they will be outlawed and marijuana legalized.

  • HARMLESS???

I haven't done a great deal of "research" in order to form my opinion on marijuana. I have however lived in this world long enough to make some judgements based on my own experience and observations. I have known people who tried pot and never went on to any other drugs (that they admit to) both of them turned out okay. Then there are the vastly larger number of people for whom pot was a "gateway" drug. Out of that number, there are precious few who are still alive and out of prison. Would legalization change this? I think not, cigarettes are legal for adults but really, how many smokers started after age 18? Alchol is legal, also for adults, but again, how many people wait until 21 for their first drink. Legalization would merely make one more dangerous substance easier for underage, underinformed children to obtain.

  • Drugs are the fuel for manic creativity
Give a responsible person a blunt, and he will smoke it on his balcony, enjoy some classical music, and read a book. Give a frat horndog liquor and he and his 4 friends will die in an accident. Some people should have drugs, like me. I rarely break the law. Most of my substance induced creative meditations are through the use of legal, rare drugs. But I think that certain drugs need to be legalized so that the peons of our society will rejoice in their religion and fundamentals, while the few greater individuals step out of the lines through substance influence, and change the world. And those peons are now at the whim of the great. Screw conservatism and traditional family values. Close-mindedness is what is destroying humanity.

  • legalise it?

I already have legalised it. I've named my brain an independent state. I decided it was already in a bit of a state before i claimed independence for it. When i'm under the influence of the chemicals nitrogen/oxygen i experience all sorts of inexplicable and bizzare phenomena. Seperate human bodies wandering around, sky, plants, planet and stuff, brains rationalising it all everywhere. It's all absurd. Under the chemicals in cannibis I experience bizzare phenomena differently. It's still absurd.

I'm a teenager myself but I disagree with what you are saying right here. Marijuana is one of the most dangerous drugs, even more dangerous than heroine and cocaine. Why? because everybody thinks it's not a "big deal" having a dose or two, or maybe three. After all, it's just crack, isn't it? Heh, teens like everything that is illegal, why?....because (I'm sorry to say this for my age group) we are stupid. Yeah, stupid, pathetic. We think we are so cool, but we always find youselves regretting stuff, decisions we've made. Just grow up! It's illegal, so deal with it.

  • Some Benefits of Legal Hemp

Excluding recreational usage, the legalization of marijuana would be very positive in many ways. Hemp can be used to make many different things, such as clothing, food, and housing material. It can also be used as an alternative energy source and could become more popular as oil prices rise. Most countries that have legalized industrial hemp have a regulation on the amount of THC in the materials. (most of this info is from Wikipedia.org)

  • NO NO NO NO NO!!!!

Someone high on marijuana crahsed into my uncle and almost killed him. No one should have to die because some idiot got high and drove. Just like people need to drink responsibly. But seriously, my uncle my aunt and two of my cousins lives almost ended because of a person high on marijuana. I dont want someone else to have to live through that pain. Months of rehab and such.
