Should homosexuals have children?

Is it right for homosexuals to have children? Is it fair on the children?

    Why shouldn’t they? They are just like everyone else. Plus children coming from same sex couples are going to be more open and accepting of everyone.

    Look around at parents who are of different sexes, some are horrible parents. Just like my mother. Just like Fanelia19 said some people just suck at raising kids. It shouldn’t matter what sex they are, as long as they love and care for the child

    Of course they should be allowed children. It would probably help todays sociaty in understanding and accepting people in same sex relationships. I think the child would grow to be open minded and a better person if they see the situation. They would also probably be less racist and more accepting of different people wether it be from other cultures, another race or religion. i think they have every right to have a child!

    Despite sexual preffrence the fact is people are human. Some are jerks and most likely they will fail misrabley as parents. But its a labour of love to raise a child and not give up on them. If a homosexual couple is prepared to deal with that commitment then i say yes.

    they should be allowed to have children because it is their natural born right. who can decide whether or not they should be allowed to have kids. if they are fit to be parents then their life style should not compromise their cances of having a child no matter what.

    I dont see what the big fuss about homosexualitly is these days. It shouldnt matter what gender somebody else perfers. Its not any of anybodys bissniss of whom they like or what sex they like. Why shouldnt they be allowed to adopt? Here, let me try to give an example. Okay, say you had a best friend who had adopted child. And suddenly they came out and said they were gay. Should the kid be taken away from them, just because of what gender they like? It never made sence to me. It shouldnt matter who you like or anything. Everyone should be allowed to have childern..gay or not.

  • Silly question...

    There are SO many people in this world who are terrible parents (abuse, beating up, rape even) – and they’re all straight. If there’s a gay couple who can do a better job than that, I don’t think we should even question them.

  • Through adoption, yes

    I don’t believe in things that medically mess around with nature and kill fetuses but if it’s through adoption I don’t think there’s anything wrong with gays adopting kids. If the kid gets bullied, the moral responsibility lies with the bullies- not the parents.

    Hetersexuals aren't perfect. So why would homosexuals have to be perfect? I say yes they should. With the huge amout of homeless children out there today I think we would really benfit. It should be up to the child actually if they are able to make their own decision.

    should people who drown their children or leave them to die in a dumpster or kill their wives or husbands have children just cuz they're heterosexual.

    they may be of the same sex - but if they love eachother and they will provide for a child and show that child the beauty this world has to offer - why should they be denied cuz of fear and stupidity?

    I mean, naturally might be a little difficult. Here's to the miracles of science! -- But I think any adoption agency that turns away willing, decent gay couples, has serious moral issues. I also am outraged when I hear things like gay parents losing custody of their kids when the other spouse is an abusive alcholic. Judges that think that is the lesser of two evils doesn't know the definition of evil.

    If you think about it really it depends on the people not their sexuality ...i mean my father is a straight and is not all that nice while some of my friends are gay couples and are the kindest people i know ...it also works in reverse a straight couple may be kinder than another gay couple ...either way unless there is proof of abuse we can not take back the right for a couple to have a child

    before i say all this i want to first say i am a christian, with that said i think that homosexuals should be able to adopt children if they can handle the responsibility, some christians try to argue that children dont do well without a mother and a father, but you know what??? they do better with 2 moms or two dads than they would with NO parent whatsoever.

  • kids...todays society...yigh

    I am gay(/bi/confused/still deciding) myself and I wouldnt have children if I was in a serious relationship with another woman. Mainly because I wouldnt want my child to grow up in todays society and be ridiculed because of me. School kids can be harsh! Im currently having the problem of going back into the closet for a bit so to speak around school as my younger brother will be starting there in september. I dont want him to be labelled as “the lesbians brother”. He needs to make his own way in the school. If it were more accepted then I wouldnt have this problem I supose. I just want to know what everyone else thinks. If you were gay would you have kids? xxx
