Agnosticism

The idea that none of us truly know what higher power there is, if there is one at all.

  • As idiotic mortals, we will never know

Human beings are confined to this existance. We are beings of logic and very shot existances. To be blunt, the scope of our abilities is far too small for us to ever be able to recognize any higher power, this is not opinion, this is fact. That having been stated, I must know how so many people have the nerve to declare themselves right about this impossiblility. None of us know, so why do so many people find it neccesary to condemn everyone that doesn't believe what they believe? I think life would be far more fullfilling and successful if people focused on the message, which is almost univeral (be a good person ect ect), of religion rather than who is speaking it.

  • As idiotic mortals, we have to try

I really don't mean to offend anyone here but the view that "there's no way we can know so it seems pointless trying" seems to be a little lazy to me. Assume for a second that there's a God, assume that any theistic religion is correct in saying that he loves and cares about humanity and that there is the possibility of a personal relationship with him. Surely in this instance, it's worth doing everything you can to at least seek him out? And if God is benevolent and loves humanity, surely he would have given us the capacity to have some experience and knowledge of him?

I personally believe in God (in case you couldn't tell) but even if there was no God, that still doesn't in any way erase the quest for truth. Humanity still has an undisputable yearning to understand the world and it stands to reason that if the physical world is all there is then it must be able to be explained in purely physical terms with more understanding.

These options are by no means the only two, but I cannot believe, nor do I feel it is unreasonable to believe, that there is more than enough probability that the truth can be known to make searching for it more than worthwhile. I also believe that people who claim they do know either way are to be respected for making a firm decision based on the evidence.

  • Eh.

I'm one of those Agnosticism/Evolutionism people. I mean, I'd rather believe that we came form non-living matter (just the right mix) than a big fat pot of nothing. Everything has a BEGINNING, meaning EVERYTHING. One man, or one God, cannont simply defy physics, science, matter, or any of those laws. I don't care how damn righteous the fucker is, lol, the laws just don't work that way. That's when you gotta bring in mathematics and the chaos theory (which I swear by).

So if there's not guarentee of Heaven or Hell, why bother praying to a possibley false God. There again, there are the people who pray it safe, you know...Better safe then sorry, right? But God knows your thoughts, then, doesn't he? Right. He knows if you're not TRULY faithful, just trying to squeeze into a bigger place. I mean, praying 'please God, I'll do what ever you say, just let me have my way' has to be a sin. By the way that little quote came from 'Do You' by Jewel. She usually squishes God into most of her songs anyway.

So I choose not to try any false praying or fake faith. What's the point? Truly, WHAT IS THE POINT? I don't believe in God or a higher being than man, but, then again, there isn't any ROCK HARD SOLID proof that there isn't a God. So I'll party. Drink hearty, me buckoes, drink and be merry! Go to strip clubs, smoke if it pleases you! Premarital sex up the spout-woot woot!

Mind you, always have a designated driver, don't drink under-age, watch your drink, try not to get caught...And don't be a fool; wrap your tool!
