let's say there is a game show kind of like wheel of fortune only slightly different. you get to spin the wheel and there is a 95% chance that you will win $10,000,000 but if you land on the other 5%, you must me executed. would you risk it? i know that we humans do much more riskier things such as driving but would you let one spin of a wheel decide whether you get to become rich or die? let me hear your opinions on this.

I wouldn't!30% Voted for by Stella Cadente, Sankofalokumbe, cosmosis, Kei-Aira, TeChNoWC. (9 total)
Frankly, I don't care how much money I have, as long as I am alive. Why do people care so much about money? I don't even think it makes you happy..it just destroys your life....the richest people aren't the happiest people!

Hell No!!13% Voted for by Sankofalokumbe, chaostheory89, Kei-Aira, CrazyRebel.
I don't value money and I think it is rather foolish to do so. Money for many people is a door to happiness, but money can't buy the things that make me happy. So why risk my life for something that isn't even going to make me happy?

A steady flow10% Voted for by Sankofalokumbe, Kei-Aira, DancingRed.
I would rather have a job that pays $10,000,000 than to just win it. If I had that much money all at once, I would go paranoid about what to do with it and I would think everyone was trying to steal it. I would rather have a job that pays that much, so then I would know for sure that a steady flow of money would always be coming. If you win money, you had better spend it carefully, because you aren't getting it back, but if you have a job, you don't have to worry as much because there will always be money coming to you.

Would Life Insurace Cover It?Voted for by WarChylde.
I would definately do it, I mean the odds are good, but seeing as I have a son I would want to make sure my life insurance would cover death by gameshow so I know he is taken care of if I happen to lose.

I am a sick person though. For me the question is as follows: In what way would i be executed? 10 Mil is a lot of money. To risk that and only be shot in the head is a no brainer. The wager would have to be like a spin for ten mil or be pressed to death, or skinned alive, or something horrific like that. Honestly i don't really have much to live for. No loved ones to miss me, My dreams didn't work out so if it was just a quick death or ten mil i would go for it. And with a 95% chance of winning how could i not?

I did the mathVoted for by SeymourTheArbiter.
According to my life insurance, I am worth less than 5% of $10,000,000. Therefore, the potential gain outweighs the risk.
Sure better than Russian Roulette, where there's a 1 in 6 chance of death at best.

nope..Voted for by LostWithoutYou14.
why risk it? if you have a life, a family and friends why would you be willing to throw everything away for money? to me theres no contest i would soo much rather live without money then to die for a chance just to win money..

PSH! what the heck for?Voted for by painter-of-words.

I think so.Voted for by looking4realtruth.
Yes. A 95% chance that I'd be rich for the rest of my life? I'm in. Although I agree that the method of execution would be important. As long as the game isn't rigged. Those are incredible odds.

i find it funny that people place their moral values in their answers in light of being asked such a question. we can all sit here and say that we wouldnt take a risk, as small as it may be, to get all that money to ourselves because you dont place value on money and its not worth your life. the sad fact is we all depend on money and value it. it is our life. none of us live outside of the economy. you value money enough to work for it so that you can get all the things you want. the computer you get online with to debate this question, the food you eat, the clothes you wear, the cars you drive, the schools you go to, the places you live. you all value money more than you choose to identify with. and when given the opporitunity to get more money to get a higher quality of things to satisfy your every need and desire you should believe without a doubt that you nature would outweigh any logic concerning risk and go for that money.
i think its safe to say that none of us here are so well off that we dont need money nor do any of us just happen to have 10,000,000 dollars laying around in our name to do whatever we want with. certainly we could use it since we all know that we, sadly, depend on money. it overrules morals. i dont care who you are; if you say it doesnt youd be lying. after all sorts of tax you can cut that $10,000,000 down. and we all know taht you dont get one huge check in the amount of whatevers left after tax, you get checks for certain amounts all your life until you have taken in the amount that is owed to you. so needless to say even after taxes you would die before even gathering the full prize. youd be set for life.
its obvious that your gains far outweigh your risks. some people may see that 5% risk factor and make it bigger than that 95% gain factor. but we take risks everyday. we drive our cars. getting into that car there is always some risk taht we can get into a car accident and another risk taht that car accident may be fatal. yet we still drive that car because those risks are minimal. what makes gambling your life to better your life any different or more dangerous than anything you do in your everyday routines?
i say i would go for that money.

Why?Even if I hypotheticaly won 10 Billion dollars, it wouldnt solve all my problems, in fact it would just give me new ones. Someone might hold a member of my family for ransom, I might invest it all or put it all away and the stock market might fall or a bank might be robbed. Ten Billion Dollars would help me but then again their is a 5% chance that I will die and no life is worth risking even at 5 to 100 odds.Voted for by Hellfione.

Yeah!I would do it, because some of that money could be donated to poor people, and change people's lives forever. If I promised to donate half that money to charity, and I died, I bet I would be considered a martyr. But hopefully I would win.Voted for by Drew3000.

starving
Young and healthy, doesn't necessarily mean a person will never starve. enviroment, oppression, disease, all can force the young into a hungry position.Weydon
