Life is unfair

This is what I have discovered about life being "unfair": Life is fair in the way that it is unfair to everyone. Everyone has their trials in life, and it is untrue to say that any one trial is less than another. Everyone has their own tests and hurts and sorrows. Therefore, life is fair in the way that it is unfair.

  • Life is Fair

Who decided that life is unfair? If it was always fair, how would we know what unfair is? So might it not be said that because it is "unfair" that this is just apart of life and thus it it is fair. Who do you think created life? Are you saying that person is unfair? Or if no one created it and it was a pure act of random mutations and evolutions, then how can you say that it is unfair when it is completely random? Either way you seem to loose.

  • the definition of Unfair

The definition of "unfair" is: Marked by partiality

So for life to be unfair, it would have to be harder on one person than another, but everyone suffers the same as the other, so it is therefore not unfair. So when you are going to complain about how life treats you, you should say: "Life is too fair to me."

  • sO?

sO? Yea life is unfair. But how troubling is your life really? Life is more fair to you than it is to the victims of the tsunami, 9-11, hurricane Katrina and all others. If it really was that unfair, you wouldn't have a computer or local library because you'd be so poor, sick, and sad to post any of your shortcommings.

  • Replying to your protests...

You know, you say that life is more fair to me than to others, such as those suffering from tramatic events, but I don't think you know me well enough to say such things. I have had my share of sufferings in my own way. Those who went through Katrina and 9-11 went through a lot, yes, I'm not denying that, but I also will not say that they have gone through more than I. Life IS fair, because at one point or another, everyone has their own struggles. Say a rich kid is born to loving parents (yeah, right. didn't happen to me. ) They would then have still many options of awful things to come. They could have depression, have some awful disease that effects their whole life, they are definatly hated by many for others' jealisy, they could be hit by a car, they could get cancer, yada, yada, yada... And you can't say that because you can't see the distress that they face that it isn't there. Depression is excruciating to suffer, as those who (actually) have it know. It is a genetic trait just like diabetes that everyone pretends to understand and/or have to belittle it. But those who (actually) have it go through hell every single day. And though I have had this living hell, this atrocious nightmare, I do not deem life unfair, because I know that everyone I will ever encounter will have to deal with some or other pain that will be just as bad, just as excruciatinly mind-numbing as mine. That is why life IS fair.

  • Yes, Life is Unfair!

Suffering is unevenly distributed among the people of the world. Two billion people are living miserable lives on less than two dollars a day. Whole populations are victims of genocide, starvation, enslavement or disease. Of the six billion people in the world maybe the top ten percent think life is fair. The rest of the people are too busy trying to stay alive to even have thoughts about fairness! Pain is the guiding force behind natural selection while happiness, what little is available, is nature's after thought.

  • It is neither...

Life is neither fair nor unfair. It just IS. When bad things happen to good people (and eventually we all get a dose of it to one degree or another), it is simply LIFE. Period. Living in this world means that we all experience ups and downs through the years. It is simply part of the human experience. It is how we learn from life's trials and tribulations that is important.

As the old saying goes, "It is not the cards you are dealt in life, but the way you play the hand."

  • Fair is:

Depends on if you mean fair as in 'nice enough' or fair as in 'equal distribution among people of 'nice enough''.

  • Life

There is no fair or unfair to life. Life can be merciless to us but it's the decisions we make. You can change the course in life. Fate is the result of what we do.
