Faith. What is it REALLY?42% Voted for by Kayden S, Weydon, Kei-Aira.
I believe faith is ignorance. What is faith besides the belief in something without logic? You see, though faith may have been necessary in medieval Europe in order to keep the peasants "faithful" to their lords, it should not be used now as an excuse for doing wrong. There have been more deaths in the name of God than for any other cause. Hope, on the other hand, hope is what you make of it.

How does anyone even KNOW anything?? Its all faith and hope really. I believe there is no truth in philosophy.28% Voted for by endsofbread, TeChNoWC.
the truth of the matter is, there is no truth. we choose to believe in what we are told, what we are taught, or what we reason on. but man's logic is flawed. so.. if we're choosing what to believe in based on flawed human logic.. well then.. there is no such thing as truth. its all a philosophy. and then a paradox comes in. because at the core of every philosophy is a paradox. you see because, i want to believe in a greater perfect god's logic rather than my own. but the thing is, it is my logic that allows me to believe that there is a greater god to begin with. so its all a big paradox. what came first, the chicken or the egg? somethings are seen as almost undeniable truths. such as the sun will always come up everyday. we can expect that, we KNOW that. but how are you really sure? Many people think.. well it has come up every single day i've been alive and i know that for sure and i'm positive it came up many years before. but you know.. nobody really knows. we base so much of what we think is fact on books, experience, and what we're told. but nobody really knows anything because truth does not exist. but you know what, people have faith. it may not require a lot, but we all have faith in at least that the sun will come up tomorrow. and well, if we did not have faith, we'd all run into a panic. i mean, in all honesty, it sounds like such a childish argument.. "well, how do youuu know!?" but it really isn't. how do we know? we have no guarantee, we aren't in control of anything, only what we choose to believe in. that is our only power. and we can believe in anything we want. but no matter what, we always have to keep faith. we always have to have a hope in something, otherwise life isn't worth living. and i like hope and faith. its what keeps us going. and sometimes we get disappointed and let down by things or people that we really believed in and hoped a lot for. but we can't let it get us down. because.. in all honesty, we have no guarantee of anything in our lives. not a single thing. and the most basic reason of why we need to hope is so that we don't run into panic. we need to hope, we need to have faith even in the things that seem least possible, because its part of our power. its part of what we were born to do. we need to have hope in a better tomorrow because having that hope benefits us in that we believe there is something worth living for and it simply feels good to believe. this applies to so many things for so many people. i have faith and hope. and i believe in a set of values for what i hold to be truths. and the fact that truth does not exist doesn't deter me. because everything i just said may not be the truth at all. but i'll believe what i'll believe in. because its what i have the power to do.

Taken from Dictionary.com
Ignorance - The condition of being uneducated, unaware, or uninformed. Believe - To have firm faith Faith - Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing. I guess you could relatively say anything is ignorant and in that case I'll say that I believe your statement "I believe faith is ignorance" is an especially ignorant one.frndofyaweh

Faith
Belief in things not seen. belief with no proof other than the experience itself. Faith is always based on passed and present experiences. Faith is based on reliability. I have faith in my car because I drive it daily, yet cars break down all the time. My faith is based on my own personal driving experiences and no way I can prove it, because it was a personal experience developed over time and use of the automobile, by me alone. Relationships are like this and so is my relationship with Christ based on this faith. I have the experiences to prove it is truth, but I can never relate that to another, as easily as that other can embrace the experience for themselves.Energizer Bunny
