This is not ignorance its just smarts,this baby she has created is going to live a confusing life and probably with out a father. Grandparents are being stared at cause they are white, poor mother gets embarressed. I know there a many who will disagree with this but every body was raised diffrently. I don't blame this ignorance on the child. I have never met a black person nor a white person for that matter. I do know this fellow, that some may call Albino, but gee whiz, he is not white either!
Admittedly he is a faded tannish pink, but I also am a tannish pink and wait a minute here, even someone darker is darker tannish pink and from the dust we came and to the dust we shall return. See the woman there also, who is the color of the lava stone and that child there, who is the color of the beach sand and that gentlemen there, who is the color of red clay and all of the colors of the dusts, that are the dust of this earth are that red and brown dust, which we are made of.We are all brown people, plain and simple.

I mean what if your family disowned you for your ignorance, wouldn't that hurt? I mean you have disowned you sister for god's sake, for something that she has no control over (the heart) and now you have disowned a child (who is related to you whether you want to admit it or not)who has committed no other crime but being born.... ignorance and hate are members of the same family... why don't you disown them!

What makes you think how you were raised is the best for your sister and not her choice? What makes you think the relationship will break up? Even if the relationship breaks up what makes you think she will not find another black man? The fact that your husband is supporting you does not make your thinking correct. You were simple indoctrinated and now you need to be free from that indoctrination which suppresses one’s freedom to choose. Your sister is free from that indoctrination and she is exercising her constitutional right to choose a husband of her choice. The fact that the freedom to choose is enshrined in the USA constitution means that the majority in USA support the right to freedom of choice. If you want your will to be done, then be some little god and create your own little sub-human beings who you can control because even your own kids will not listen to you. Granted that you are a human being just like your sister what makes you think you should choose for her? This is where your insanity is. You should change your way of thinking and start to see her just like a human being like you, who can make decisions about her life just like you. you are going to get many responses for this topic I suspect. All I want to know is how is the INNOCENT baby being treated?? Personally, I'm not for mixed relationships. No, I do not think there is anything bad with it or anything like that. I don't think like that. But, I am a HUGE advocate for children and I've seen far too many times how many children of mixed relationships are treated. They are just innocent children who did not ask to be born just like any others.

First, I should say you can't just say "black", because they are not "black", but "African Americans". You don't know how much it hurts, and neither do I, so, you should be very careful with the words. I don't know, but I'm don't think that dating people of other "skin color" is a smart decision, but I'm all about dating people of other ethnicities. Maybe, because I am not american, and like in the US, I don't know. I'm not a racist though,this is what I think for me, other people can do what they want, because...who am I to judge them? I agree with Energizer Bunny...how is the kid getting treated?You know, your sister's future, the most important individual for everybody in your family?

Why should it matter if so and so is black, or he is white? We are all the same and I think we need to stop focussing on our differences and embrace our similarities. Personally, I chose the atitude that I never knew there was more than 1 race on the planet. Are we not still human beings?

frndofyaweh has made a post saying exactly what his views on this issue are now. I see you not only posed a question but did so in caps as to put tremendous stress on your attempt to make him choose sides. There is more at work here than just choosing sides like children on a school playground. This is not a "jump on someone's side" kind of issue. This is a major issue that Familyhater is dealing with and you attract bees with honey not with attempting to force someone's hand. We must remember we are dealing with people and if our purpose is to just boldly state our point only then this board is rather useless.
