  Love

  love is not a feeling, it is not an emotion, it is not the warm fuzzies, you get as a teanager, what it is ,is the descission to put someone elses wellbeing , ahead of your own, and commiting to that descission,then it is the actions that follow that descission, love is an act or set of actions

Though you can feel that way while in love, there is more to it than that. You can love someone with your whole heart but be rather inept and possibly a scumbag. You will likely lose that person because you were selfish or unthinking, but losing them will hurt because you love them.

    The realization that you indeed need someone is not love, but rather dependancy, Love is not the feelings you have that you will suffer loss if that person leaves, whether emotional, financial, or simply needed the help of getting things done you yourself are not good at, or dont want to do, yes loosing that person will hurt , so you had better take the kind of actions that consititute love if you wish to avoid these things.Mankind tends to love only comfort for the most part , in the context , in which you apply the word love

  I never said need. Being in love is in fact a form of dependency, but it is not a NEED. You are always capable of moving on, no matter how hard.   chosing to love

  Human beings are subject to lust and its more romantic version infatuation. We see what we idealise as fulfilling to our desires. I mean face it who wouldn't want their partner to have supermodel looks and a body to die for? Rarely however do we meet the one of our dreams and we do find some one to spend our time with. If we so chose we can ignore the opportunity to cultivate a loving relationship with this perfectly ordinary person and wait for Mr. or Mrs. Extra-ordinarily Perfect. Most of us do so chose, we decide that we really don't have to have a lover with the bluest blue eyes, or the greatest rear end that humankind has ever seen. We then proceed to make the choices that we believe will result in our greatest happiness. If you are a totally self-centered person, why there is nothing to stop you from being the worst partner in the world, because you can't(or won't) chose to nurture love, chose your lover and his/her happiness first. The self-centered person has chosen to love but to love themselves not their partner.The unselfish person will (the vast majority of the time) chose their partner's happiness first, mostly in the small things, where it counts the most. Chosing to ponder the needs of the loved one and attempting to fill them even at the expense of your own. These things these choices are love and the doing of them are the evidence of love. Oh yeah, if you can get a little heart pounding and some nice shortage of breath when they walk in the room well good on you!

The parts following quotes are altering what I said in response to your quotes, to restate your original opinion. I assume this was to slyly point out that I wasn't doing anything but portraying my opinion as fact either? Let's home I'm wrong, because that was meant to be obvious. I asked you what you were basing it on, and you restated yourself. In an attempt to show you that you did nothing to answer my question other than state YOUR opinions as facts with nothing backing them, I showed you that it was equally easy for me to do the same thing from the opposite side of the perspective. To show that doing so was not at all constructive. You apparently thought it was a rally cry to a 4th grade "IS TOO!", "IS NOT!" discussion. I asked you what you were basing your claims on, and you didn't give me anything. I can only assume that next you will ask me what I'm basing my opposition on (as you did in the marijuana discussion) WITHOUT providing me with yours. If you want I will be willing to supply you with countless tales of people who fell in love without choosing, or people who wanted to fall in love (or stay there) but fell apart. But it is pretty childish for EVERY time someone asks you to support a statement you ask them to support their opposition FIRST.   You scoff at Wikipedia's reliability in a topic about scientific research with all of their sources cited, and then use a fellow poster's post from the same page as your "source"? The most accurate definition of love I've ever seen is something along the lines of the happiness of another person being essential to your own. You have to make sure you don't let yourself get treated like a doormat, but overall that's fairly accurate. If you screw things up and hurt them bad and they choose to leave you, you should let them--even reccomend while hoping they give you another chance so you can be with them. But it will still hurt because you love them. If they move or just think they found someone better, you can beg them to stay but let them go because you love them and want to be with them. But it will still hurt because you love them.

    Weydon, if you need someone elses happiness to find happiness yourself, I truely feel sorry for you, and whoever might get into a relationship with you , happiness is something you have to find from within yourself, it also is a discission. Further, I never said the quote I used was my sourse, simply that it was accurate, the way you confuse your facts , its no wonder you are so confussed about everything else.

  Niether I , nor you can make anyone happy, only they can decide to be happy or not, I would prefer that everyone would make that descision, even you believe it or not, as much as we disagree , hell, Im starting to like you in spite of myself , maybe we should stop meeting like this

  I would like to say the same, but you are a malicious and hateful person. You refuse to look at other perspectives. You often know you are proven wrong, because any intelligent person (and you are intelligent) cannot deny reason when they see it. So you simply restate yourself and pretend really hard that you're still right. But you still knew you were wrong, but your stubbornness leads you to irrationally hate harmless people like homosexuals and want to imprison people for life for victimless crimes. I imagine you to be impossibily intolerant and have a rather ugly heart. Hopefully my theory that you are only a 7th grader is true and you will have a chance to grow out of this and see the world from a brighter view.

  I dont really hate anyone,

  Homosexuals may or may not be born that way, It would certainly not be the only temptation we are to refrain from,and even not hating them , i hate the fact they want to justify themselves rather than simply admitt they are to weak not to fall into those temptations , and I hate more that they then try to make it seem acceptable and something others should tollerate or even except and embrace. I do not believe Im wrong on the weed issue eather, althow i dont hate people who use it , I do hate that they try to convince others its harmless, If you use it , then use it , and if you never let another soul know you do, and certainly never let anyone else become involved in its use then more power to you , but when the majority of users are out there saying it should be legalized , and attempmting to increase the numbers of users , then it should be criminal, and the punishment harsh enough to let others who would take thier place give pause before conducting activities that, if caught, would basicly end thier lives

  I see both. I will admit that most of the time it (At least seems it) is the way you described, but thats just because of the gradual progression from society's old imprint of women not allowed to do much at all in courtships other than be courted. Things are pretty open now. While a decent amount of girls will still not openly go up to guys, almost every single one looking for someone will make it quite obvious in there "checking out guys" that they want you to come over. That is considered active "hunting" as well, and is a technique men can and do use--both when wanting the girl to approach her and when looking who is the best choice to approach.

  depends

  Some (and i would say many) are just looking to see if they are being looked at. Not wanting, just wanting to be wanted (witness the sale of womans magazines). This type of want within a relationship, by both or either sex, creates co-dependency and painful consequences because this type of "want" derives from relationship pain (childhood dissapointments). It is a type of pretend (childlike) relationship.

What I meant but failed to imply was not merely the "scoping out" but looking around and pausing on a specific guy or girl (or 5) and seeing if s/he is interested, smiles, disgusted, whatever. This could be a "Yup, I'm wanted!", but more often it's actively seeking someone who is interested--either to encourage them to come over, or to make it easier to decide who to approach yourself.
