Question: If homosexuals are attracted to members of the same sex, why do they dress like, act like, and date people who dress and act like members of the opposite sex? Being a heterosexual, I simply can't grasp the concept.

You don't need to grasp it. That is for these others to do so. I like chocolate. I'll still like chocolate if no-one else grasps my concept of liking chocolate. Anyway, you only think you are hetero. Homos only think they are homo. The brain thinks so why not just co-operate with it. Less struggle that way.

Why struggle to grasp another's lifestyle? I don't care if a homosexual can't grasp reasons for my heterosexuality. As for the suicide question, it is your brain fighting your brain over what you should do here. I'm talking of allowing (or the freeing up of) instinct. Co-operation with the phenomenal universe is instinctual. It is thought that interrupts this connection. Thoughts are generally subject to societal conditioning. Societal rules & traditions are political constructs born out of desire (for control over instinct). The brain is phenomenal as with and in connection with the whole phenomenal universe. Instinct is "the inborn tendency to behave in a particular way without the need for thought". So my suggestion is to co-operate with the universe and regard political rules as just egoic games. Games can be played without becoming the game, or (in other words) the brain and it's personality are tools for use in the (master) game we call life. We are not these tools anymore than a carpenter is his hammer.

I presume your question was for grant, Weydon. I never equated homosexuality to chocolate or suicide. Oh and your post doesn't include a hypothetical.

You equated homosexuality and chocolate to suicide by claiming grant's theory was flawed because (and I paraphrase from your implications) "Sure we may FEEL like we want to eat chocolate or be gay, but we might also feel like we want to kill ourselves!". Grant was obviously talking about harmless things the mind may prefer, whether it be food, music, or orientation. You then moved that up to also be the same as killing yourself. One could even say, equated it. Oh, and I was making a joke to further emphasize the obliteration of such an out of place suggestion. (I just did it again)

Who is mocking who? This is very confusing. They could be fighting to dress like a chick, but who will ever know? Not me. I just hope that the dresses they choose to wear (fight or no fight) appeals to my esthetics. What else matters? It's all about me anyway.

This is a universal statement. It says I have to co-operate with my mind. So if my mind convinced me that I should kill myself, I have to co-operate with it, supposedly.

I see where you were going now. That because your brain tells you SOME sort of feeling doesn't always mean good. I read into grant's statement to imply if your brain feels you want to do something harmless, but perhaps that was presuming too much. I'll add that on as my stance.

my point was grant, and I think Weydon understands me now, is that you did not elaborate on what things that our minds tell us to do that we need to co-operate with. Should I also co-operate with my mind if it is trying to tell me I am suicidal maniac that needs to kill myself? Would you tell someone you care about to co-operate with such a notion? Just give me an answer, and reasoning as to why, please. Much appreciated.

i am not your god. My brain finds the feminine sexually attractive. I am not my brain. My brain is a tool. There is no conflict within my brain about this matter. Internal conflict is the brain divided within itself. Suicide is an internal conflict. My heterosexual nature is about spreading my seed. My brain has been used by nature to procure (in terms of strategy) eggs to fertilise. If I felt that i was my brain then all i would be is a sex machine. The mechanics of sex produces prodginy, but also introduces the feminine to the masculine. Beyond the mere procreation model their seems to be other spiritual dimensions which involves the self needing to understand both its feminine and masculine aspects. This understanding is helped through the two physically seperate male and female body/minds in their relating. This relating may (if one is ready) help bring into balance both the feminine and masculine psyche within the one self. Maybe the homosexual is just not ready yet (in this lifetime). There are plenty of heterosexuals who are also not ready, hence the objectification of the opposite sex. There is no wrong in being not ready, so therefore, not wrong to be gay. It is not wrong of the two year old to not be ready to ride a bike.
