i couldnt agree more the media just shows beautiful slim women and it does make us ' average people ' feel like shit ! I always feel not good enough for my boyfriend because we have all been bought up with the image young, slim, beautiful and bloody fantastic! but the reality of most of us..is a few stretch marks not that toned..some spots, cellulite and not all that gorgeous! but you know the way i try to think not that it always works mind u! is the fact i am who i am ..im me inside and if they dont like me then they dont deserve me anyway and if there that shallow then f**k you !!! yeh thats how i want to feel but deep down i dont..guess you just got to be happy with u have got and just think things could be a lot worse ...

You have a partner so i assume he loves you. So, whats the problem? If your partner glances at a passing conventionally attractive other in the street it has nothing to do with his feelings for you. This "glance" is just his organism's chemical response which is not particularly different to one's mouth watering at the cooking smells as one passes a resturant. It has nothing to do with feeling. I'm glad no-one knows what i am thinking. If i want them to know it will only be because i trust them to realise that there is an I that feels and my organism that thinks and responds to it's chemical nature. It is futile to moralise one's organism's chemical reaction. If one considers love to be other than emotional then it is easier to see that things are fine. If one acts out one's emotional reactivity then understanding of it is part of unconditional love. And yes, you think differently. If you didn't you would just be with another you. In which case you would only be doubley lonely. To relate with difference is where its all at. Hence we have the (superior) female brain and the male brain.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder , I know guys that like big women, black women, white women, short women, tall women, women with big noses, women with big feet, god ..it goes on and on, no one is perfect to everyone , people who look for companionship only by judging how they look are to shallow to be of notice, Be proud of who you are by being what you concider a good person to be, and pay no heed to the witless shallow hollywood idiots.personaly most of the people I really care about, I cant close my eyes and picture thier face ,let alone thier bodies , but I do know thier hearts

Media doesn't make you feel bad, YOU make you feel badVoted for by Darkwolf618.
The media doesn't portray these "beautiful people" as scorning or loathing those who don't necessarily look as attractive as they do. Sure, I guess you could say they are hinting that it is better to look this certain way, but unless you watch shows that are based around the idea of beautiful celebrities making fun of average-looking people, then this is all in your own head.
