How do we sense that there is a God?

Hello everybody! Well this is a question I start asking myself more and more. How do we sense that, how do we realize that? Not only by mental knowing, but by feeling. I am really anxious to hear your opinions!

  • SENSING GOD IS AN ACT OF FAITH

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. One of the word that leads to sensing God, is believing the word of God that says, "where two or three are gathered in my name I am in their midst”. The other one is, "when you call I’ll answer thee and I’ll show you great and mighty things”. Someone sensing God will start declaring what the power of God will be doing at that particular time or ask God what they want done. This is in accordance with God's word in the bible that says "I'm watching over my word in order to perform it". And that "my word will not return to me void but will accomplish that which pleases me" The effect of this will be reinforcing the faith. So, someone sensing God can pray for the sick, praying for deliverance from demonic oppression etc. After this, that’s when we'll hear people screaming being delivered from demonic oppression. The lame walking and the blind having their eye sight restored.

So the topic says how do we sense there is a God? Sensing God is an act of faith and Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. This means first, we hear God's word from the bible which is the word of God and then believe it. That’s how faith comes. When we have the faith we put it in action. So, sensing God is putting faith in action.

Signs and wonders are a confirmation of the working of God's power. Speaking in tongues is a sign that one has Holy Spirit. Wonders are miracles e.g. lame walking.

With sensitivity, which is why we have senses. The more we numb and dull our senses with the ego produced distractions of our modern world the more difficult sensitivity becomes.

  • 1 Corinthians 2:1-16

    1 Corinthians Chapter 2

"When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power. We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written:

    no eye has seen,

    no ear has heard,

    no mind has concieved

what God has prepared for those who love him

but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.

The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not recieved the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man makes judgements about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgement:

"For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?"

But we have the mind of Christ."

  • Meditation

This 'sensing' is merely a euphoric state caused by the comforting feeling of hope and redemption. It's like when we meditate for yoga, or when we get really really excited. Meditation, I suppose, is best used to describe the euphoric state. Meditation is the praying and the 'being in tune with God and Jesus'. You become calm/faithful because instead of the meditation clearing your mind and putting you in a calm state, the faith sort of becomes an obsession or an almost brain-washing experience.

    That's just my opinion, though!
