oppression

While the western world fervently opposes totalitarianism, something makes me anxious. By opposing totalitarianism, there is no implication that this opposes other forms of oppression. Do you think there is too much association between the encroachments on liberty and outright fear-tactics of the less pretty oppressions, as I do, that impede democratic man from adding to society? Do we need to pay serious attention to the prettier faces of subtle and ever subtler oppression that needn't be new but rather among us all?

Thats a good point. Don't have much to add, just wanted to see that it didn't go unread.
