I have no problem with gay people but it must be wrong if its in the bible. Im against it because those people might be born that way. It doesnt make since for a baby that is gay to be destined for hell , If thats how the bible is then thats wrong.

Homosexuality isn't in the New Testament. What is there is a deceptive mistranslation of two words that appear once and twice(respectively) in the New Testament. Homosexuality is mentioned in the Old Testament, however, but I'm pretty sure(I say pretty sure because I am currently talking with some other folks about this to see if I have the right idea or not) that there were a few passages in the New Testament in which Jesus says that the old laws are obsolete.

i'm confused by your comment, are you saying that the bible is wrong or that being gay is wrong....but to take this further, where in what PROVEN scientific documented evidence does it say we were born gay. as a follower of christ i want people to understand that there is a major misconseption that all christians are gay hating people. personally speaking, it is'nt true, i have a friend that is gay. but that does not mean i beleive that gay behavior is eather moral or acceptable.

As a gay Christian I have this paradox. (First of all, it is possible to be gay AND Christian. To say it's not is like saying that you can't be black and Christian, a Christian woman, etc., because sexuality is scientificially proven to be something that is decided at a very young age regardless of sexual experience. I'd elaborate more on this later, but this isn't about whether it's a choice or not.) First, since I believe that Jesus took away my sins, I am free from that blot on my life, if it is indeed a blot in God's eyes. Second, as a new person in Christ, I the Holy Spirit is working through me to change me. My question to my pastor and friends is this: should I try to change or not? What I've basically found out through prayer and reading is that God works through people, and we all should try to live as God wills us. Because I believe I am born this way, I also believe I am this way for a reason, whatever reason that is. So I advise gay Christians who are struggling with this to just pray to God. Leave the choice up to him. If God wants us to be straight, we will change with his help, if he doesn't well I guess we won't. As for the "baby going to hell" thing, in the Bible there is an age of accountability...for example, the child conceived by David's relationship with Bathsheba died at birth and David later talked about how he would join him in heaven. However, we also are told we are all born sinners...but maybe, because babies have pretty much no opportunity to know God, they are sent to heaven regardless of circumstances. As for gay people and hell, I believe that all people who deny God will be sent to hell, not just gay people. I struggled for a long time with the feeling of, "I'm Christian but I'm gay, am I going to hell"? But then, we must go to the simple Bible teaching of God's forgiveness through Jesus. And for further reassurance, Romans 8:1: "There is no condemnation awaiting those who belong to Jesus Christ." (TLV) And as for the "it's wrong," thing, in the Old Testament it was prohibited because it was practiced by Gentile nations and God wanted his people to stay away from Gentile practices. This is explicitly said in the last verses of Leviticus 18 (I'm pretty sure that's where homosexuality is mentioned). It also calls homosexuality an "abdomniation," just like the clipping of beards in chapter 19 or 20 is an "abdomniation." Jesus did say the old laws were obsolete...as for the New Testament references, the original text can be interpreted many ways...the supposed reference in Jude 6 is actually supposed to say "the lust for strange flesh," not "the lust of men for other men," as many versions say including my TLV. One could argue that the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was not homosexuality but the lust of men for angels, because the men visiting Lot were angels. Anyway, my main point is that whether it's wrong or not, if it is a sin, then those who sincerely believe and wish to please God shall be forgiven, and if not...well, what do we have to debate? I'm not saying we should go on sinning, because the Spirit living within us will obviously help us to please God and we won't really want to sin anyway. Even as Christians we inevitably sin, because we are human. But what I am saying is that I believe that gay people can go to Heaven, those that sincerely believe in Jesus and in God and live in Him.

I don't know if homosexuality is morally sound, wrong, if it is genetic, a personal choice or whatever. That is for God to decide. All I can do is try to treat everyone on this planet with the same ammount of respect and love and then let God sort everything out in the end.

Perhaps one day some will show a true genetic basis for homosexuality without ambiguity. Part of the problem with original sin was the alterity to the physical criterion of humanity. Homosexuality may be one of those products of the fall of mankind. It is in the person of Jesus Christ that God has most revealed himself and His nature unto humanity. God is love, yet humanity must conform themselves to the image of Jesus so far as possible with wisdom and moral rightness. To be in eternity without God is an unthinkable hell. Within the brevity of life humanity cannot fathom the wisdom of the eternal ancient of days. Jesus is the way; and one must needs pray that one is called and drawn by God unto salvation through the sin and that further one may accomplish whatever purpose his will requires. well to tell you the truth i belive that since the times have changed then the bible should be updated.i mean its not right to make everyone read something that says that being gay is wrong.i mean the bible is suppose to be a guidence you can look to in need,not something you have to follow.so all i can say is that follow your heart.if you want to belive its right then thats your opinion.no one can take that away from you.i belive that people should be able to love whoever they want.just forget whatever the bible says.
