Christian hypocrites?

Jesus preaches "Love your neighbor as yourself" and teaches tolerance. Why do so many Christians feel the need to judge others and say things like: "You are a homosexual; you're going to hell!" "You had sex before marriage, you heathen sinner!" "You believe in a different god than I do, BURN!"?

  • This Saddens Me
it makes me really depressed to see stuff like this because it shows how much we (Christians) are failing. im a Christian, and i have many gay and lesbian friends and i love them just as much as i love all my other friends, i try not to judge people and im really very open. the problem is alot of Christians have forgotten the Teachings of Christ. The Christ said "Love your Neighbor as yourself" Not, "Love your neighbor ONLY if he is a straight christian republican" People have forgotten that God is Love. and though some people are
living in sin, we are not to judge them, simply love them and hope they can see the light.
Don't judge Christ over what some Stupid Christians are doing! that is not the Teachings of Jesus!!

  • Jesus Never Turned Anyone Away

OK, I'm gay and I'm Christian and I can say for sure that my church members do not ostracize me. I go to a Baptist church with pretty conservative views, and even there I'm accepted. I guess it really depends on your denomination and your point of view, but here's what I think and I know. 1) We all are sinners, 2) Jesus died for our sins so that we would be forgiven and accepted by God, 3) Jesus was accepting of many people. For example, Jesus was especially kind and accepting to Gentiles, which, in the Jewish times, were seen as heathen sinner losers that should be killed. He preached about loving your neighbor as you love yourself, even the Gentiles. In this sense, Jesus is talking about being accepting of people, regardless of if they share the same beliefs as you or not. And God rewards those who show mercy on others and who help others and who are kind to others. So the question really here isn't, "Is it right to be nice to gays?" it is, "Is the gay man/lesbian my neighbor?" I think in the sense of humanity and the universal likeness of God, as Jesus was probably implying, the answer is, "Yes." Besides, is it really Christian to hate someone? What happened to "Love the sinner, hate the sin"? I'm not preaching for all Christians to be lovey-dovey, non-hating people, because we all sin by hate, but I'm just saying that if you have to justify hate don't use God as an excuse, because God loves all people. He just hates their sins.

  • I Believe it's because many Christians are closeted Homosexuals
I think some Jesus followers are closeted Homosexuals so they use the Lord's teachings to discriminate and hate other homosexuals. It is truly very sad because if you look back in history and read the Bible and know anything about Jesus he didn't say anything bad against homosexuality and he was neither for it or against it. I think that people just use their religion as a hate mechanism and the reason why they do this is because they have fear in their hearts and hate on their brain!

  • Because all Religions have been edited

All religions have been changed by people one way or the other. So Jesus proberbly said that being homosexual wasn't wrong but then a priest may have come along and began preaching that you will go to hell for being homosexual.

  • everyone is a hypocrite to some degree

***Why do so many Christians feel the need to judge others***

Sounds like you expect Christians to be perfect. If they are flawed human beings like everyone made out of flesh and blood why would you expect them not to be flawed????

    -------------------------------

In the bible God is not tolerant of just anything, so what exactly do you want Christians to be more tolerant of???

  • I understand

I understand where all of this is comming from. I know I fell out of the church BECAUSE people despised me for being raped... I dont understand why they despised me because of that when it wasnt my fault. I do know that I could have prevented being raped, but now I do not want to fix it.. I am living a better and more happy life with the one I love because that little part of my life made me not want to go through it again among others things... I am basically waiting until after I am married to have sex with my love. Sorry wes.. Yes, I was a bad girl until then, and now I am improving and not wearing a mask like I did before this.. But key word... I was... Yes, I am frusterated with the religion, but I believe what I learned in the religion.. just not the people who try to convince us that they are always right and I am always wrong...

  • Not Hypocrites, Just Ignorant of "SINS"

Jesus suffered a horrendous death for what? HE DIED FOR YOUR SINS. That means that whatever you do it is NOT a sin because God sent Jesus to absolve all the "sins" that future generations could do. YOU ARE FREE TO SIN. That is why Jesus came to Earth, so that he could free you of sin by dying for all the sins you will ever commit. That is why nothing happens to people who "sin". Hitler killed 6,000,000 people because Jesus died so that he could sin and kill. There are no longer any repurcusions to anyone. Go out and have sex before marriage-- Jesus died so that you can do this. Go out and kill and steal-- Jesus died so that you can do this. Jesus died so that YOU COULD BE FREE. That was the meaning of the crucifixion. You do not get it. I come here from God. I am the new messenger. I am another son of God. Jesus was my brother. I come to tell you and remind you of the true message of my Father. The Pope and all churches are WRONG. I come straight from the Father. I tell you this because God LOVES YOU.

  • Hell is for unrepentant sinners
Homosexuality is plainly condemned in the Bible...make no mistake about that.

    http://www.carm.org/questions/homosexuality.htm

Too many people seek to arrange Christian doctrine to fit their worldly corruptions as if it is just a political affair. That is natural enough in a Darwinian era, yet homosexual conduct is amidst all of those wrong conducts preferred by the unsaved sometimes in the tradgedy of their errors.

Eternal life is a very important thing. Humanity has the chance every so briefly to renormalize with God through acceptance of the Son of God Jesus Christ as their personal savior, and yes they must turn away from all manner of abomidable practices such as homosexuality, murder, terror, envy, greed, lying and so forth. Satan is eager to deceive the ignorant and willing into false beliefs about what is or isn't allright.

It is a true statement that God loves everyone yet hates sin. Sin means to miss the mark. The consequences of missing the points of right action, right thought and right speech and conduct is an eternity without God. One may consider the nature and being of God and his marvelous yet mysterious purposes in many ways of course, yet all the major religions of the world to tend to seek after the One. Even Buddhism in seeking to annihilate the emanations from the One to return to a pre-temporal incarnate condition in effect describe the concept of God that the philosopher Plotinus wrote of in his 54 Enneads.

Homosexuality is a brokenness conduct that prefers to shatter the correct forms of being for humanity. The Bible points out the way for renormaliztion unto The One through The Son. Humanity as an incarnate and corrupt being finds it difficult to escape its own carnal and corrupt nature and do the will of God. God being perfect hasn't sin and neither did Jesus Christ.

Much of humanity prefers to construct a false consciousness to delude themselves about what they must do to become right with God, and it is more difficult for some to forgo the corrupt nature of original sin than it is to quit nicotiner addiction. Of all these worldly broken forms of conduct the most serious is to miss out on salvation and eternal life with God obviously.

God has created humanity and the Universe out of nothingness, and one's life is always just a vapor existing mysteriously, phenomenally and temporally. It is implicitly a necessary thing to take up the oppportunity God has provided humanity through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ to become saved while the day exists. The night will come for everyone when the words of the Bible won't be available for anyone to read and consider.
