  Ok you said it yourself what happened to love the sinner hate the sin. Well I am not prejudice against homosexual's do I think it is a sin yes. But I also know that sex outside of marriage is a sin. And I did have sex prior to marriage, so yes I am a sinner, now If I wasn't married would I still have sex out of wedlock? I don't know I would hope that I could refrane from this sin. Does this make me a hypocrite? I am not saying that you are going to go to hell. I'm saying that you are sinning, but so am I. Another thing that I can tell you is that if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal savior and have asked him for forgivness for your sins then you and I will both be in Heaven together. As far as your sins and mine you dont need to worry about my sins and I dont need to worry about yours. I need to worry that I am being Christ like and thats it. I would hope that you would just do the same. I am not going to answer for your sins just mine. And I dont know how God is going to judge at me for the sins that I commited knowing that they are sins and didnt care. So I agian cant answer for how God is going to judge you and your sins.   Jesus said even before baptism to repent. Repent is to turn from your sinning ways. Yes, love the sinner and hate the sin, but if the sinner knows he is sinning and continues in his ways, then he is unrepentant and still a sinner. And as the bible says; "The wages of sin is death." Sinners should not feel comfortable in their sins. 1Jo 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Eze 18:30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. Eze 18:31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? Eze 18:32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

  OK, I see what you are saying here. "Repent" means to turn away. When I became a child of God and accepted Jesus as my Savior I admitted to Him that I wanted to live a new life in him, free of sin. But I cannot say I have never sinned since!! And how can you, unless you are perfect? It says in Romans, "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." Paul also talks about in Romans about how he is constantly struggling with two forces: his sinful nature and his want to please God. These are just several examples. Though we want to follow Christ and become more like him, (hence Christians, "like Christ") we still sin. I'm not saying that it's OK to sin; we should try to turn from sin at all times. What I am saying, however, is that though we repent and are baptized we are not made "perfect." We are just forgiven. So your arguement is like saying that if a Christian sins and knows it is a sin then he is "unrepentant." So that's almost like saying salvation is taken away from us when we slip up and fall into our errors! But if that is true, then what was the point of Christ dying on the cross? I'm not saying, "Go ahead and sin," I'm saying that we are not perfect, even as born-again in Christ, and that we will inevitably sin, even once or twice more, throughout our lives. So saying that someone who sins is not repentant is like saying that all Christians really are not Christians, because everyone sins.

    I never said that I was sinless or incapabale of sinning. However, I do not continue to fall into all the traps that have caused me to sin. Of all people, true Christians know they are sinners. I would submit that 99% of those who believe that they are Christians are not.

  What do you mean by your last comment? Are you saying that 99% of people who believe in Jesus and worship Him and his Father are not? Are you saying that those who continue to sin are not Christians? What do you mean by this? Are you saying that 99% of believers are hypocrites who shall not see Heaven? Please help me to understand what you are saying. We may be Christians and forgiven, but we are not perfect. We still slip and fall. While on this issue, I'd like to add my opinion about Heaven and Hell. Correct me if I'm wrong: Heaven is for those that believe in Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit, who serve Him throughout their lives and worship and honor him. Believers shall go to Heaven...UNLESS, they are like those of Hell. Those in Hell either do not believe in God at all or have turned away from Him, both literally and figuratively, by keeping Him out of their lives. Hell isn't for a Christian who was a pretty good guy, except for that one time he cheated on his wife, lied to his brother, etc. Hell is for followers of false gods and those that turn from their Creator. How can a Christian go to Hell unless he turns from his beliefs and refuses God? And is it not written that sin is forgiven, and though we are forgiven, still we stumble? Truly, the only sin that cannot be forgiven is the Unforgivable Sin, which, according to scholars, most likely is either blaphsemy of the Holy Spirit or dishonornment of Communion. My point here is that we are not perfect, but because we follow God we shall see him. Do you agree? I respect your opinions and just want to see your side.

  Repent means to think differently

  Look it up in the concordance, it does not mean to turn away,Man is not capable of thinking differently than he does, it is a work of God, man cannot repent ecxept God change the way he thinks.

    David committed adultery and murder. He repented and God called him a man after His own heart. All of Nineveh repented and turned to God and He spared them from destruction. There are many instances in the bible of people repenting. Where do you get your ideas from?

  So to repent is to basically want to change your ways...OK. Still, I question mudgod's statistic of 99% of Christians not are not really Christian...that's saying only 1 out of 100...10 out of 1000...100 out of 10,000...1,000 out of 100,000...10,000 out of 1,000,000...100,000 out of 10,000,000...and 1,000,000 out of 1,000,000,000. So that means out of 1 billion "believers" only 1 million truly "are"? This just seems interesting to me that he would use such a statistic...their are those who wear crosses on their necks and claim to believe in Jesus but who don't even know Him or make Him a part of their lives...if these are the people that mudgod speaks of...but 99% of us being them? I think it's an exaggeration...

I just wanted to quickly say that in the final accounting, there will be much less than 1,000,000 of God's elect, but eventually, all (billions and billions) will have the opportunity to become God's spirit born children. Sons of God. In spirit as He is. With all the inheritance that goes with it.

  It all comes down to what does it mean to be a Christian and do you believe the bible. As the bible is the only source of what Jesus said, it is imperative that you believe it. I believe that 100% of people that profess to be Christians BELIEVE IN Jesus. It is my contention that 1% of professing Christians actually BELIEVE Jesus. Would you believe that the following statement is true? (Luk 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?) Jesus says that He is not your master if you don’t obey Him. John follows it up thusly. (1Jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.) People would have us believe that the ten commandments died on the cross, but the only thing that died on the cross besides Jesus was the requirement of animal sacrifices (of which He was the ultimate blood sacrifice) and the laws that men had added over the years. This is what was meant by (Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;) Certainly not the ten commandments. Can you worship Him in vain? (Mat 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Mar 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. ) Absolutely. This could become a lengthy discussion and I don’t want it to, but everything is related. Most people don’t realize that God is not calling everyone at this time. He is only calling out those that He refers to as His elect. They are being called at this time to conquer Satan and to become the bride of Christ at His second coming. (Mat 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. Luk 12:51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:) Would you think it possible for God to intentionally deceive people from the truth? (2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish (should be "are perishing"); because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.) God has no pleasure in those who won’t believe the truth. What is sin? (1Jo 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.) Jesus obviously knew that the commandments were in effect. (Mat 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? He also said that the law would not be done away with or changed in any way before His return. So, if one were to be a “true” Christian, they must keep the commandments, no? So what are the commandments? (And notice who said them – see Exodus 20). (1. There are 2 test commandments. Numbers 2 and 4. You can see by the second commandment that we are not to use images and idols in our worship. Where does that leave those that use crosses, crucifixes, statues, etc? People reason this away by saying they only point to God and help us in worshipping Him. But God says “Don’t do it.” This is following the traditions of men. People who do this cannot be classified as true Christians. Looking at the forth commandment shows us that God created a specific day for worship. The seventh day. We know it as Saturday (Friday at sun down to Saturday at sun down). God sanctified it, made it holy. It is sacred and very important to God. There is no biblical authority for changing the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. The Catholics changed it because they wanted to and the protestants go right along with them. If we are keeping God’s commandments as Jesus did (and He did), then if we are worshipping on any other day than Saturday, then we cannot be classified as Christian. The same is true of idols and images. If we use them, we are not His. Look around you. Based on this criteria, how many professing Christians are “true” Christians? I submit that it is less than 1%. It is stated in the bible that God’s elect are a small flock and a remnant which by definition means small or little. And they will need to conquer Satan. (Luk 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Isa 16:14 But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of a hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble. Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.) As I noted, God is not calling everyone at this time. But each will have an opportunity at their assigned resurrection. The elect of God are called the firstfruits; (Rev 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.) After Satan is put away, then the multitude of people will be resurrected to learn of God’s ways without the sway of Satan to deal with. It will be the elects job as the bride of Christ to assist Him in their education. (Rev 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, Rev 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.) A last quick note on heaven and hell. Ultimately, heaven will be on Earth and God will reside here. As far as hell. The words in Hebrew and Greek that are translated as hell refer to the grave. Remember, the wages of sin is death not eternal burning in fire. What loving God would want his children to be in eternal torment? The bible says that Sodom and Gomorrah would burn forever, but they are not burning now, are they? No, what it means is that they will burn until there is nothing left to burn. For them it might as well be forever. It is the same with people. If they will not do it His way He will destroy them. God will not tolerate sinning in the world tomorrow. Sorry this was so long, but I felt it was necessary to get the point across. If you feel that I have used any scriptures incorrectly, please let me know. (Eze 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?)

  So you're saying all people who wear crosses aren't Christian; people who go to Sunday service aren't Christian; any Christian who sins after being saved is not Christian; and all new believers who are not the elect are not Christian. Huh. So where does that leave gay Christians?

    They may all profess to be Christians, but their actions (fruits, if you will) show they are not. The bible says "by their fruits you will know them." I don't say that there will not be an opportunity for them to accept the changes required. We know that God doesn't want to lose anyone. There is not a war going on between God and Satan as most presume. The war is between Satan and God's elect (with God's strength). God has a plan. He is working it perfectly. His will will be done. Mercifully, He is not calling the whole world to repentance now, but His plans do encompass the entirety of mankind.

    If you are gay and you believe that is ok with God, then I'll never convince you otherwise. Nor would I want to. I can only point out what the bible says. Only God Himself can convince you of anything. Suffice to say, everyone will have the opportunity to accept the truth or not. Everyone. He loves all of His children.

  It's Great that Your Church Still Accepts You

  That's wonderful that they can still overlook your lifestyle. I feel that's how it should be. But just like you said about the whole "love the sinner, hate the sin" thing. God says that homosexuality is detestable in Lev. 18:22. One of my best friends is a lesbian and I still treat her the same and love her the same. I was shocked when I found out but it wasn't like it took me forever to get used to it. She told me, I was shocked for a couple of minutes, and then I got over it and went on with life. I'm cool with people who are gay or lesbian or bisexual. I don't think it's right, but I'm not going to treat anyone any differently just because of it. But you're right, Jesus did die so that we might be forgiven and have eternal life. I don't doubt that you love the Lord or anything like that. I just don't understand how you could live that lifestyle and act like it's ok. It's deffinitely not ok. Please don't take this as me judging you because I'm not. I'm just restating what God has already said. I know that it probably seems like I'm attacking you or something. Don't take it like that because I'm not. I know how it feels to have people coming at you telling you that you're wrong for this and that. But at the end of the day I'm glad they convict me of my sins. They really make me think about what I'm doing and why I should try my best to move away from living that way. I'm not perfect at all. Sex before marriage is wrong. I've done it. More than once. It's a really hard sin to get out of. Just like lying is and just like homosexuality is, I'm sure. God can help us all change if we really want to. I really want to. Especially now since I'm paying for my sin by bringing another life in this world. It's a blessing and a curse. But back to what I was saying. I think as Christians deep down when we know we're doing something that God hates, we feel horrible about it. Our conscience is like "this is so wrong you need to stop." When we know something is wrong and we do it anyway, we're sinning. Just because Jesus died for our sins doesn't mean it's ok to sin. It just means that we get a whole bunch of chances to make things right. And the only way we can be forgiven is if we recognize what we're doing wrong, ask God for forgiveness, and ask Him to change us so that our desire will be for Him and only Him. We're all going to slip up and do something again because we're human. Satan is always trying to get us to mess up and tell us that we can't do it and a lot of times we believe Him and go right back into that sin. But the thing is, it's absolutely stupid to believe him. God loves us and He is perfect and sovereign and can do ALL THINGS. And we can do all things through Him. We can't do it alone, that's why He's here: to help us through it all. I hope I didn't say anything that made you feel I was judging you. That's why I gave an example of a sin that I was living in. None of us are perfect. I know a lot of Christians who would tell you that you're evil and a whole bunch of other crap. I don't think you're evil at all. Just know that as your sister in Christ, I love you. And God loves you even more and all He wants is for us to have life in Him.

  Acceptance?

  This whole discussion saddens me. Maybe I am not as much of a Christian as I thought I was if I go by what you're preaching. I was raised Catholic and I’m sorry to say that I do wear a cross around my neck because personally for me, it makes me feel closer to God. It is a personal conviction of mine. I am converting to a different form of Christianity because I now find myself second-guessing the regulations I have grown up with and also, in view of the fact that Catholicism is a dying religion. I have many homosexual friends who are practicing Christians. I believe each person is able to keep the foundation of the holy trinity in their belief system; however, I also believe you add your own convictions to make your belief in God more appreciable. It truly saddens me to see how some Christians have turned into mini Hitlers (no offense) and feel they have the right to condemn anybody else. Some people believe the Bible has been altered, if it truly has or not we will never definitely know. The one thing I do know is I accept all classes of people. I welcome anybody who has a heart in my home regardless of their orientation, religion, race, social status etc. The base of Christianity should be kindness and acceptance of all and I think when everyone walks into a church we need to throw away this garbage and focus on God. Stop worrying about if the guy next to you goes home and kisses a man, it’s none of your business. That my friend is between those people and God and I truly believe God accepts all. You can criticize me for not following the Bible 100% or wearing a cross around my neck and not necessarily believing in chastity but at the end of the day we both believe the same thing. We believe in God the Father, Son & Holy Spirit. Please do not take this as an attack because I respect your views, we all are entitled to our opinions.

    God (in the Bible) tells us to not associate with those who willfully sin. Yes, love the sinner (and we are all sinners), but hate the sin. We must refrain from sinning and avoid those who will not. None is perfect but that is the goal. We cannot get anywhere perfect without God's help. God cannot abide sin and if we willfully continue in it, He cannot help us. It is our sin that seperates from God. The Bible says many times that only those who overcome will be acceptable. God has seen to it that the older versions of the Bible (King James, etc) have remained intact. There is no excuse for not knowing God's will.

    omg! lol I'm sorry but I rarely ever hear people use that saying about Christianity. I love it. I always say it because it's true. You cannot save yourself by doing good works. Christ died to save us. Thank the Lord! lol. I couldn't be in a religion because I would not be getting to heaven. I'm so glad I have Jesus.

  I have yet to see any real proof in an ACCURATE translation that the Bible says ANYWERE that homosexuality is wrong. The problem with the Bible is that it has been both translated and interpreterted to serve people's own needs... and, one of those needs is (for some reason) to get rid of homosexuals.
  
  And, I agree with what the original choice is. People who SHOULD be following the "love-your-neighbour" teachings have found ways to justify doing the opposite, because the religion is very open to intentional and unintentional mistranslations and interpretations.

  If you really think that Jesus thought homosexuality was ok, then who's to say that He thought anything was wrong. Hey maybe He thought it was just fine and dandy to murder people. Yes, that's it. God meant for this world to be totally chaotic. He created this world just for the heck of it. If we can do nothing wrong, then what's the point of heaven and hell. Oh maybe Jesus never said anything about that either. Maybe some lame just added it in to give us all some hope. Yeah, God doesn't want to be with us. We all just go into the ground after we die. Hey since that's all we have to look forward to why don't we all just kill each other and save us all the time.

  The Christians I know/knew and the Catholics I know/knew all thought they were perfect. That no matter what they were the best. I was raised Christian and they tended to be a little prejudiced with other people whether anyone wants to admit it or not and my family bounced from churches and it was the same everywhere.

  It's a shame that some people act like that. You know I think it's very possible they did not truly have Christ in their hearts. Just a thought, but Christ brings humility into one's heart, not arrogance. So If I were in your shoes I'd have to wonder about their true intent too. :)

    The whole church thing never clicked with me. I never understood it and it never seemed to have the same effect with me it did for everyone else and I think part of thats because of those people. I saw how my family and I were looked at when we walked into church. I saw how they looked at other members of the church and it didnt feel right. I dont see if how God is supposed to be wonderful does his followers so ridiculous and ignornant of other people.

  If what you say is true, that these people despised you for being raped (and was not just a result of your over-sensitivity given the already senstiveness of the issue) then this is abhorrent. Such people have issues with the self. I apologise for any hurt that may have been thrown your way, because it sickens me that such fellow christians were not their to support you. May God give me strength to act differently if ever such a situation as yours should arise in my church, lest I become a hypocrite and a liar.

  That's Horrible!

  The same thing happened to one of my closest friends. I know it's not right to hate people, but I'm pretty close to it having to hear something like that all over again. I mean really, what is wrong with people these days!? It wasn't even your fault, whether you could have prevented it or not. It's not like you were walking around asking people to rape you. And even if you had had sex consentually, it doesn't matter. Everyone makes mistakes. They're some hypocrites. They know they are not blameless. And this wasn't even your fault! Ugh this type of stuff really gets me mad. I can't believe that people would act like this. Like you did something wrong. Like you held a gun to the person's head and told them to rape you. Where is there compassion? I bet you needed someone to comfort you. The church is supposed to be another comfort zone. It's supposed to be full of people who will truly love you and help you in the best way they can. What the heck is the world coming to? I can tell it's all going to be over soon. I'm just guessing you are, or were, a Christian? Well anyway, you shouldn't let people push you out of a religion because of their stupidity. You're not there for them, you're there for God. And God loves you always. If you need to be reassured about something just open up the Bible and ask God to speak to you. I know it probably sounds silly. Like God won't start talking to you as if you're face to face, but it's just as good when you ask Him to show you something and you crack open that book and read something so uplifting; it's like He's right there holding you. Never lose your faith. Faith that's lost, really isn't faith at all, is it? I'm sure there are other churches who wouldn't look at you that way. But it's good that you want to wait until marriage for next time =]

  You're talking on some whole anti-Christ stuff. You sound so stupid, sorry to say. Why would Jesus die so you can we can do whatever we want. Yes, HE LOVES US. So he doesn't want us to hurt each other. He didn't die so we could sin whenever we want, He died so we could try not to sin, but sin and be forgiven AFTER ASKING FOR FORGIVENESS. Read the Bible. You'll learn a lot. You're just talking out of your butt. You probably heard people share the Gospel and now you've turned it into your own little thing. I hope you learn before it's too late. And besides, to be forgiven you have to believe that Jesus is Christ's son. Not everybody believes that so not everybody is being forgiven because they're walking in darkness, much like you. You're blinded by Satan. He wants you to think that you can do whatever you want and still go to heaven. You know what he's doing right now? He's laughing at your stupidity, at how naive you're being. He's loving every minute of it and he's going to love seeing your body being eaten by maggots and devoured by flames even more. Please, please stop being so crazy. I hate to know that people are living in darkness and will probably never come out. PICK UP THE BIBLE! Jesus loves you! He wants you to have eternal life and be with him! Stop ignoring the fact that there is a hell and there are people there and there will be more people there. You need to listen with your heart and your soul. God is reaching out for you! He would never lie to you or hurt you or leave you! But you must listen and obey Him! At first this made me laugh.   you got it all wrong

  please dont stereotype christians based on the perception you have been given. Christians make just as many mistakes as anyone else, sometimes worse, and i know many do judge non christians, something everyone does, but its not right because christians do it, and so dont let them. if they're judging you, know that they are wrong. Christians dont target any human as the enemy. They may not agree with the ethics of a person, but that doesnt mean they hate the person, or see them as the enemy, they just want to see them saved so that they can be free of their sins. The things about christians and being homosexual is that of course they dont approve all the time, but many have the wrong perception. Like was said above, jesus accepts anyone. Some christians may not, but that doesnt mean jesus doesnt, he is the important one.

    Philosophers should be interested in seeking after the truth of issues rather than to obfuscate it. If one is interested in what the Biblical opinion is about hommosexuality than one should write what that is rather than to dissimulate it. Philosophers should not lie about one issue and be truthful about others generally because of the taperstry in incohernce and diassociating worldview one could build, not to mention the disruption of an aretaic ethical context subjectively.
    
    Protection of the rights of the majority is important too. In civil society the rights of the majority may be expressed in a constituted doctrine describing vital interests. Homosexuality and other minority practices may encroach upon majority rights, and thereby threaten the security of the majority-that is a reason why several hommosexual changes such as New Jersey and Oregoin and brought about are of concern. Heterosexuals may find themselves increasingly subject to corrupting machinations of perverted minority homosexuals politically and socially, and that should not occur in a healthy society. That is a political possibility of course. It is important to have civil rights of an equal basis, and also important to keep intact the vital interests of the majority as is appropriate for a democratic society.
    
    Philosophical concerns about mass social changes are one aspect of the minority interest in homosexual human conduct, those interestsed could approach that from several points of view, yet if one is concerned about Christian ideas about the problem of evil, or the problem of homosexuality, then one should realize that Christians should be consistent as there learning and maturity allow them to be with Biblical doctrine. The Christian point of view should try to become or emulate and reflect what the Biblical opinion is.
    
    Without faith in Jesus Christ it may be impossible to comprehend the Bible very well; it is a spiritual concern and not simply a matter of reading and taking it out of the spiritual context. Christians want to do the will of God, while politically minded homosexuals have an interest in corrupting the truth about what God has to say about homosexuality as expressed in the Bible, corrupting Christian and public opinion about Christianity and valid Christian doctrine, and hiding the Biblical truth in order to make their perverted homosexual practices benefit politically from the reduction of an antipathetic ethical and moral opinion.
    
    It is important to have free speech in a democratic society of course, and that includes Christian free speech.
