    I think because you have already rested, and screwed up your sleeping patterns it makes it harder to fall back asleep after a nap mid day.

    when my daughter was a small child she always slept soundly at night if she had an afternoon nap. Without her consistant afternoon nap I knew I was in for a long night myself.
