I thought it was interesting the extreme views of most on philosophy websites. Often I see those with great faith debating Atheists. Why do you think that is? Why no gray area or middle ground? My Grandfather was a POW in WWII, he once told me "In the trenchs, you either go one way or the other." What experiences have made you go one way or the other?

Miracles40% Voted for by Dwn, Energizer Bunny.
For me, I cant remember a time in my life I was not aware of God, There was no sudden revelation, I have witnessed what I concider to be miracles, And I'm not that easily impressed , not common stuff, I hear people say birth is a miracle, or children, first one thing then another, maybe in some sence they are but I have never been impressed by common place occurences , so when I say I have seen a few, you can bet it wasnt those sorts of things.

to a fork in the road you take a path. You cant take more than one. You'll never know what would have happened had you taken any of the other paths so why debate it?

God can't exist and not exist at the same time.Voted for by trolly.
Because the two options are mutually exclusive? God can't exist and not exist at the same time.
I suppose you could be agnostic. But saying 'I don't know if God exists or not' isn't really an argument.
I'm not sure why there isn't more middle ground in other topics, though.
