As a Psych major, I am seeing more and more how much our minds and bodies are connected. Why is there a distinction in our society when each effect the other? I think doctors should specialize in both body and mind. This would enable them to treat the whole person and help them to better understand somatic illness, for example.

your mind technically controls your body therefore they are one and when one is troubled the other is which i think is pretty neat…when sick treat all of you…mind and body, lol, but you cannot seperate mind from body.

What do you think about the mind/brain distinction? Are you from the analytical school? Do you think mind supersedes brain?

It’s all chemical reactions responding to stimuli, where certain groups of cells have the ability to store information and control the rest in a survival mode. You are not you, you are a collection of cells working together to survive. Just ask them!

no I don't. I mean that our Psyche, our thoughts, past experiences, personality, and emotions, affect our physical body. they are not separate so should not be treated separately. Please register or login to comment! It's totally free
