Things you must never do/say, for fear of offending people

We live in a very politically correct world. The amount of times I hear something and laugh at the absurdity of the restrictions imposed on us in order to be P/C. I thought let's make a list

  • Political Correctness

I dont like the idea of political correctness, the very term implies that of 'A trend that wants to make everything fair, equal and just to all by supressing thought, speech and practice in order to acheive that goal'

However much that political correctness stands for is worthwhile and beneficial. It is easy to laugh at stories of political corectness taken to extremes but the intention behind it is noble.

  • It's getting rediculous.

Here in Britain things are so p.c. that its becoming a farce. Recently there has been a Christian airstewardess that was suspended for refusing to remove her cross necklace even though Muslim and Sikh workers are allowed to wear veils and turbans. Everyday day in the newspapers there are new reports of anger over discrimination against people from all backgrounds.

Pressure is building because most people feel that the Muslim communities in particular are seperating themselves from the general population and expecting special privilages.

Things will only get worse before they get better.

Longstanding employees of particular companies who are given extra days holidays are having these taken away from them because it is seen as unfair to people who have not worked there as long. The people making these ludicrous decisions should surely see that the extra days are rewards and not gifts given through favouritism or whatever else they have imagined.

  • Quoting 14th century theologians

Naughty Mr Pope, don't quote because you're "racist" (despite the fact that Islam is a religion not a race?)

Jack and Jill encourages violence or something weird like that.

  • This is off topic buut...

I got points taken off of my french exam, years back, for calling a black french man 'African American.' I felt stupid until I saw someone on CNN do the same thing.

  • political correctness is madness

i am in the air cadets and we had a thing called Excalibur which was a simulated battle with two teams. blue team and red team. well some top brass said that red team has to be renamed becuase red team symbolises the communist army. it was a bunch of cadets with rifles
