It's my body!

People frown upon cutting, and even certain individuals find it wrong, sad, and sometimes even disgusting. Counsiling and psychicologists get involved when unnessasary.

  • hmmm this sounds familiar

cut and blackenyour eyes if you wanna. cutting and blackining of one eyes are two completely different topics. cutting tipicilly involves outcasting and probablems at home that kind of thing. while blackening of ones eyes is more of a i want to fit in with the goths kind of thing. the only reason i can say this at all is that they happen to be very close friends and my wife. all that you really want is self expression, to to be free to do what you want to do. so instead of not careing about what other ppl think and try to reach true happiness you instead would choose to cut as a form of release, because everyone says no and you just want to go agaisnt them, and you blacken your eyes to feel like you belong somewhere where the ppl are most of the time feeling the exact same way. unfortunately there arent that many real goths out there. they just feel left out and find these ppl who dont care and they see that they accept anybody who doesnt care and so they feel like they belong, but its only a empty happiness. my advice to you is very simple: "who gives a hack... reach for true happiness and stay healthy, everything else is just irrelevent"

  • Cutting vs. Drugs

You have a point with "It's my body...", and others have a point with the drugs angle. I have my own say: People sometimes do illegal things in order to obtain drugs, cutters don't. Yes, there is a ton of risk involved with both. I do think that counsiling persons (people? peoples? whatever) do have a role. They try to understand why we do what we do, in order to classify us easier and not have to go through the mess of making up an other group of people. Excuse me as I stab my thumb with a safety pin...

  • Ha.

My temple is like that Kenny Chesney song, Living in Fast Forward.

'I've treated this one like an old honkytonk; greasy cheeseburgers and cheap cigarettes, some day they'll get me if they ain't got me yet.

So why do Christians smoke? It's killing you, you're defacing your temple! Until then, bring on the reds and a shot of 90 proof!

  • It's Not Your Body

That is the whole point. You are a point of consciousness that is aware of your own awareness which was only possible by having inhabited the present body form-- the vessel that you are in. It is not yours. The body is your temple-- you are in church 24/7. Remember that. Don't destroy the church-- it is where God dwells.

Here we go. Cutters...true cutters dont tell anyone they are doing it. Maybe one or two people but no more than 4. Cutting is an obviously dangerous thing and Ive been there. Still am there. Its an addiction like any other. Bite off my ass all you want its an addiction. Its a high like drugs and alcohol but instead of physically hurting other people as can happen with drugs and alcohol they are only hurting themselves.

True that it disturbs people and upsets them but screw them. When you are in a situation as cutters are thats all you have. Sure you care about your family and friends but its more of a hiding it care. Its a terrifying feeling to think someones caught on and even when they do know most people dont say anything.

You can tell the posers from the actually hurting cutters out there by simple things. One they tell everyone. Anyone they can tell they do tell. They want the attention and they will get it which sucks for those who have actual problems. Two, they do it in obvious places. Thats how you know they want to get caught. Three, They act happy about it. True cutters hate that they do it but cant find another way to release. Obviously there are other ways but once again when you are in the middle of the fog thats all you can see.

Its like being in a pressure cooker. Thats teenagers anyway but then turn that sucker up and it feels like your bloods boiling and the air is trying to escape through your skin and once you do it its like you popped a ballon. I was trying not to get to awful graphic.
Its not a good thing to cut or however they self harm. People completely understate it by saying its not an addiction or that they can stop whenever. I look them in the face and ask what their vice is and they say coffee, smokes, drugs, alcohol, gum whatever. Then I ask them if they can stop doing it just like that. The answers no. If youve never been there you'll never understand so why post guys? Leave it alone.

Ok, what's all this shit about "true" goths and "true" cutters? Who the heck decides what's merely conforming and what is real? Any form of self-harm is a single that that people wants help.

I've done cutting in the past. All I can say is that it distracted me from emotional pain and released anger/tension. It is not a horrible thing. It is still an alternative way of releasing pain; however, it is not the more healthful way.

A lot of judgment is passed on people who do this because it is misunderstood. It is simplified and rendered down to an abusive act. My boyfriend found out about some of my past cutting and was furious. He took it a lot more seriously than I did because I know how to control myself. The people I know who cut themselves are just the same, so it is not fair to assume all those who cut themselves doing it all for attention.

What may be normal to one group of people will seem abnormal to others. High heels are a form of hobbling women but most people take no mind to it because it just fashion. It's pretty unhealthy too.
