choose to be gay?

seriousy, this isn't gaybashing hour. I just want to clarify something. if, as some less-tolerant people have said, gayness is a choice, I want to know the factors that make it better than the straight lifestyle.

like sex. I'm gay, but I've been with women before. its about the same. so if that isn't it, then why?

  • Hope springs eternal

Just as I can choose to get out of bed in the morning or not I can choose to be gay. The problem it would seem is not so much a matter of “IF” so much as ALL WAYS or NEVER. With each side dug in not listening to each other. One side blinded by ideology the other by religion. And both fearful of the other to the point of paranoia. Both sides willing to say and do the most hateful things to each other in order to get the upper hand. Yes I know I’m just as guilty as anyone else, but let’s try just for the sake of variety to have this debate without bashing that usually happens

  • not a choice.

Other than when I will have to eventually explain to my son why that guy is kissing another guy ,as long as I don't have to see a couple of dudes banging each other I never really cared.(not that it's fair, and I don't know why but 2 chicks getting it on is fine) I had all my life felt that unless it's against their will that any guy that's sucking another guys dick, that they chose to suck that guys dick.

Then by accident while I was browsing for something to watch on t.v ,I came across a show titled"gay animals"It was hosted by a comedian so I figured it was just some 30 min. com. show.Since I have an unusual sense of humor,Hell I laughed about the title for 20 min. As it turned out it was a pretty detailed scientific, documentary that was way longer than 30min. It went on to say it has been documented in pretty much every species that has been observed mates choosing other mates of same gender, ruling out the inexperienced play humping of adolescence(sometimes a dominance thing)or if the animal had no access to femals in heat(or vice versa). For instance they showed a male sheep or goat?I can't remember wich, that had in the past shown homo. tendencies. They give that animal at the same time access to either another male or a female in heat.Guess what?yep,he chose the male everytime.they dissproved every opinion I ever had on the subject and then some.

What was the most interesting was that they dissected the brains of hetero. and a homo. and found a certain area of the brain to no doubt be of different sizes corresponding to their sexual preference. Faced with this scientific FACT I begrudgingly have to change my steadfast lifelong beliefs. When they say they were born that way I suppose their being truthfull. That would slightly explain why when somepeople get molested as a child and then go on to choose a mate that had the same sexual orientation as that of the molester.(I always thought it would've made them go the opposite direction,a few do but most don't)It stands to reason that the deviant actions of some piece of shit excuse for a human didn't turn them that direction because probably those tendencies were there from the beginning.Son-of-a-bitch what's a redneck bitch supposed to think about that? • choice

This is to everyone out there that says that being gay is a choice. At what point did you make a "choice" to be straight. When looking at a mixed crowd, do you have to mentally make a choice as to who in that crowd you are attracted to. Do you place rules on yourself like "Even though I am attracted to that guy, I will not pursue it because I 'choose' not to be gay" or is the attraction not even there at all. If the attraction was not there in the first place, then there was really no choice involved at all. The biggest thing is to ask yourself if you legitamately "chose" to be straight before condemning anyone who you say has "chosen" to be gay.

  • your choice!

gayness is a choice, that excuse of being born like that is a load of horse poohy (for lack of better words) i mean you CHOOSE to be what you are no matter what it's your choice to be gay your the one who lets yourself believe that's who you are even though GOD didnt made Adam and Steve but yea that's going into something diffrent. it's like a hormone or a feeling ya know you have to controll both and gayness needs to not be kindled. you chose to kindle it or not

  • Homosexuality.

There. I said it. Yup, homosexuality is just kind of a word that makes people feel...funny. It's only a sensitive topic because we make it one. Judge lest ye be judged, I believe is what's in the Bible, so WHY are people still judging the gay people.

Not to say that homosexuality is like anorexia, because that's know what I mean this to sound like, believe me, but it can be related...You see, anorexia is always with you, even when you don't have the symptoms. Once it emerges, you have the problems such as reducing/monitoring caloric intake and excesive exercise. Scans and tests prove an imbalance of chemicals that effect your brains thoughts on your body image. This is the same for homosexuality. Even if you did scans on Carson Kressly before he realized he was gay, it's more than likely the scans are going to come out different from the straight guy he just made over with the other fab four. It's not a disease. It's just a chemical imbalance. Is depression a disease? No, it's just a chemical imbalance.

As far as I see, there are no negative side effects once you accept yourself for who you are. Bashing YOURSELF is like saying 'kill the jews' when your great great grandfather was a jew and you just got back from your own barmitzva.

  • Its not just GAYS

Of course being gay is a choice and beleive it or not god gives us that choice. Choice life or death he said. Many who are gay and sinners are choosing death. Its not all about the gays thats wrong its you who are adulterous, liers, thieves, idol worshipers etc. are sinners. We all have to pay for our actions in the end. So you choose.

  • Not a choice, but not a born trait...

Alright. I think that Gayness is a mental illness. I know that sounds... harsh. But look at it from an unbiased point of view.

Someone thinks of killing themselves, doctors say that they didn't make that choice, it was a chemical imbalance.

Someone gets angry a lot, thats not their choice they just need some little pills.

What do we do to these people? We give them medication to correct the imbalance. Duh.

So, humans (in an animalistic point of view) are here to procreate. So if an animal wants to have sex or is attractead to the same sex (that it cannot procreate with), then there must be something wrong.

I say we dope 'em up. And I have oodles of Gay friends who I love very dearly. Before you bash me.

  • the first two

who where the first two people to set foot on earth?

any answers? Adam, a man, and Eve, a woman. God put man and woman together, not man and man, not woman and woman. i can consider the fact that homsexuality may be caused by a different structure of the brain, but is there truly and excuse for intentionally sinning in the sight of God. where anyone believes that Jesus Christ exsists or not, He does, and always will. There will be a day when He returns and every knee will bow and every tongue will confess the wrongs they committed against God. you dont have to be a christian to know that. You can be anyone, with any background and with any lifestyle. anyone who is gay or lesbian has more than likely made a choice to be such, and i say that because gayness is not a characteristic you simply have to put up with, it's not a vertue, which is what makes up your personality, your personal morals. it's a path one chooses to walk down.

i do not give opinion with the intent to offend anyone of any origon, i have had a few homosexual friends and most of them are not bad. they are human beings just like me and let us not ever forget that ALL SIN IS COMMON TO MAN(as in mankind, all human beins alike.) so no one human being is excluded from anykind of tempation or other ... stuff

i can opretiate a person simply because they are a person and they should be treated with brotherly love and affection, and given the same example of Christ as one would anyother person.

you all have good points but in reallity it MUST come back to God's opinion, His matters more than all humans put together, for He is our creator and that will never change.
