What is the definition of a friend? Who are your true friends? If ALL your friends left you at lunch without telling you, how would you feel, what would you do? How do you figure out wheather this is a real friend or not?

A friend is not nessasaraly someone who acts kindly to you, a true friend is one who even if may fight with you and argue, will always fight for you when time comes. A true friend understands you without talking about it. A true friend knows your weak places. A true friend may laugh at you, but only to make you stronger, a true friend will laugh at your jokes but not at jokes made by others aimed at you. They will be happy about your victories and will share your sorrows. A freind is a person who you ultimately need, whether you realize it or not. One is lucky to have a true friend, one that is hard to find though he/she is always close: themselves. A seond true friend is very hard to find, almost imposible. some people live with only one friend (the one I mentioned first), some live with none, lucky ones live with two. I got lucky, I happened to find two friends. I "met" myself by an insident when I moved to a new country and had little help from people other then my parents. I started to rely on myself fully, thowing all wieght into pulling the heavy carrige, life. About a year later I found a second friend who I didn't have for long, because I moved from the place he lived at 2 years later. It was easier with two people pulling the carrige, but one true friend may do so as well.

Do we come into this plane with some souls who are our friends, some enemies, but most indifferent? And what is a friend. Is it a give and take relationship or do some people always expect YOU as a friend to be giving, and they, always taking.
What amazes me, just today, is how in general self absorbed and zenophobic people are. I tried to be friendly with a number of strangers today who were standing beside me waiting to deliver packages at Staples for UPS. No response from most, eyes cast down, no comments, just a very self absorbed indifference to another human being, ME. I could easily see how while even in a crowd a person could truly be alone.

real friends are the ones who stay by your side and console you through everything. they defend you when others diss you and they love you no matter what. they laugh with you, they of course laugh at you (only when it truly is funny and you start laughing too). if all your friends leave you at lunch then they are not real friends and if they all ask to copy from you all the time, they are probably not true friends. true friends are the people you least expect to care but most rely on everyday.

A best friend is someone who.. no matter what the situation.. is always there to listen. They hold you when you cry, and cry from laughing so hard. They always understand your problems and always have a way to cheer you up. They know all of your secrets and you know all of theirs. My best friend is a girl named Renee. She has been my best friend since forth grade and will be my best friend for the rest of my life. Renee knows me better then I know myself. She knows when I am lying, upset, anxious, anything. She knows everytime my parents fight, and every joke I have ever learned. We do everything together. I would not be the same person with out her.

A real friend will like you for your personality and actions, not your assets. Assets can be money, a car to give rides, a place to hang out, sex, whatever. False friends are after your ass or your assets. The true friends are usually unearthed during a time when you are broke. “A friend in need, is a friend indeed”.

I may have few very good friends, but i can certainly say, a friend is someone who will hug you when you cry, will say your beautifull and amazing when you are feeling down and unhappy. A friend is someone who can make you cry of joy because you see the. Iknow people say this alot, but a friend in need, is always a friend indeed. I'll repeat it to many times but i believe in that. There are many types of friends but hardly ever a true oneIn my opinion-in today's generation, true friends might not even exist.Voted for by Wolf Heart.
You have your good friends-the ones you call all the time and go the mall with, and sleep overs, the ones who chat about guys and confide feelings with.
You have your school friends-these talk to you around school and envite you to cooking parties or some things you may have in common with that person. They are always nice but don't really really know the real you.
You have your Space filler friends:-usually the ones around lunch, they giggle, they laugh, they talk and chat but they really don't know who you are and might never know. Just there to fill the space, cruel it might sound but true it is.
You have your once in a while friends:these people know your a nice person and you think the same but you don't have any close connects with them and don't seem to have time to talk very often but a hi once in a while is nice.
Then you have asset friends: people who want something from you, if its money, love, smarts, "coolness", or some special thing you could open doors to and are only nice for you to be on their side of some stupid argument.
(these are the people who change friends every other day)
And last you have your cold friends: these people really don't care much about you and would tell a secret behind your back in a moment with no regrets. There not really your friends, they seem to infetltrating your life just to make it harder and will often start false rumors. -

A friend is someone who stays stuck to you no matter what happens. A friend would help you when you need them, they wouldn't say crap behind your back and know you well like a sibling. A friend is someone who makes you happy and not someone who would make you feel stressed when you're around them and you can tell them stuff that you can't tell others. They can keep secrets like it was their own.
I'm glad this question is up, I wanted to see what others think of as a friend and this page was really helpul. ^_^

Calling for plans?
True friends call you for plans. You are the number one on their list. Just say you wake up early on a Saturday waiting for your friends to call you. Nobody calls. You finally decide to call some of them but you are left to realize that they already made plans with someone else. Does this mean you are not the first one that they want to call for plans? Does this make you feel like you should have called earlier? If they were a true and real friend they would've called you. But if they were thinking the same thing, waiting for you to call then maybe they are your real friend. Give it time and keep trying. Earlier and earlier, see if they've made plans. Trust me, it works. This exact situation has occured in my life multiple of times. So I leave you with this: True friend on a Saturday?
