Is corporate America using “SEX” to sell us just about everything?

Sex cannot, willnot, and never will sell a product. All sex does is give appeal to a product. Eyes are drawn to sexy females and sexy males. But that alone does not sell a product. A product has to be good to sell, that is a first. Second it must have good marketing behind it other than that commercial. Sex will never sell, vendors sell.

Part of me thinks it relates to what is ‘cool’ in 5th grade. We learn to base that part of ourselves on this mythical ‘other’, and society capitalizes on this by objectifying women

There is no sex in this image….yes perhaps the woman looks attractive and has a sexual appeal…but she’s just standing there, she’s not having sex. Corporate America is not using “Sex” to sell, they’re using Sexuality.

Why is just about every commercial on tv using sex in some form to sell a product?
If the product is as good as they say it is then why rely on sex to sell it, should it not sell itself?
Comerical have become so dependent on sexy ads that some times you cannot even determine what product the ad is promoting….now that is bad. At times it feels like they are not even promoting a product, just merely selling sex. Is this what is has come down too?????

sex sells because everyone wants it and it makes people feel good! and some people like to sell sex i know i used to sell my sex and you make alot of money off of that and not only are you making alot of money but you are also getting something you love want and need sex is the whole base of this world without sex where would we be? we would not be anywhere because you can't reproduce offspring unless you have sex also you can't show true love without sex. sex is the back bone of this whole planet and i absolutely love it and don't give a **** if anyone disagrees but sex is awesome and you should share it with anyone you can possibly share it with as long as you know you are ready for it and you also have to know that you won't get emotionally attached to that person and that is very easy just don't look at them while having sex.and don't ever say the deadly words i love you that schould only be shared with your lover or your family

I agree mostly with you until this part: "A product has to be good to sell" P.T. Barnum once said: "There is a sucker born every minute." Personally, I do not like that comment but I understand what he is saying and I must say he is pretty much right. I agree good products sell themselves but every single day people, all over the world, buy just about any kind of product you can imagine, NOT because it is good, but because of the advertisement.March 5, 2005
