Please help me out. I've watched it a few times and, possibly because of all the twists that are thrown into the plot near the ending, I always miss the part that explains why their handwriting regresses to childlike scribbles after using the boxes enough times. If you've seen the movie and caught on to this part please fill me in, it's been making me feel stupid.

Well, it's been a while...
...But, from what I can recall, they explained that human beings just weren't supposed to exist in multiple timelines, and so started to degenerate as biological creatures outside their natural habitat would. I take this to mean that distemporalization (the movement of a subject to a space/time outside of their natural reach) would put such a stress on a person's brain (by making them create too many neural connections too quickly in trying to process information beyond them) that it would have to conserve processing capabilities by disallowing some other functions, like a computer. That's how I remember INTERPRETING it, in any case, although that's probably not what was said in the movie. It does sound feasible, though, doesn't it?Please register or login to comment!
