Should gay be used as an insult?

  • Its just a word...

I use the word gay to describe something rubbish occasionaly, I dont really mean anything by it. People should just chill out and not get in such a huff about the meaning of a word, i think its more about the emotions behind an outburst rather than the actual language used.

  • Any term

Any term they use will eventualy be concidered an insult, I wish it wasnt that way , but it is,They started using gay becuase they didnt like queer or faggot , or homo. It was the pc term of its time, and so it will continue to any other word they choose, even life mate, soul mate and significant other , are begining to be concidered derogatory terms.Even husband or wife is concidered derogatory if both are the same sex.

should they be? , I dont think so , but theres not much you can do about it, people as a general rule don't accept the lifestyle.

  • No

I hate it when people talk about a class that they hate and go "Yeah, that class is so gay". What makes it gay? Is it really full of gays and you are the only strait person, or are you just brainwashed into thinking that gay is a synonym for everything that is bad or boring?

  • Probably Not

It's like when people say "you're such a girl"! like it's a bad thing. It's mostly just a playground term though, people tend to grow out of it, unless they really are homophobic. The attitude behind it bothers me more.

i don't think it should.because if the younger generation hears it there going to automatically think of it as a bad thing.and the last thing we need is another generation of gay bashing.
