Voltaire was so right. Religion makes people believe in absurdities like the Earth is 10,000 years old and that a man came back to life after a crucifixion. The Bush administration used these absurdities to get the vote from the religious right in the U.S. They used the absurdities of the Christian religion (remember Bush saying Jesus was his #1 philosopher?) to commit attrocities like orchestrating 9/11, killing innocent Iraqi mothers and children by "collateral damage" and taking away the freedoms of Americans.

There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: the fashionable non-conformist. Ayn Rand
David your posting and quote inspired me! As you can see I went over to the sister site dug in and found these two jems. Your views on religion are of course your own and I for one do not fault you for having them. Your insistence that Pres. Bush had something to do with 9/11 gives me full blown acid reflux. Do you have proof of this? If not than I offer another quote: Thinking evil is making evil. Frederich Nietzsche oh and one more. I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: 'O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous.' And God granted it. voltaire
