description of magic

what do you define magic as?

  • What a word!

Innocent magic: Christmas pops in my mind, heart warming songs that remind you of your childhood when you actually believed in Father Christmas. Singing carols at school (My personal favourite Away In A Manger "I love thee Lord Jesus look down from the sky, and stay by my bedside till morning is nigh, ha ha ooops sorry), dressing up as an Angel

Illusionary Magic: David Blaine says it all! Although he goes a bit over board with the whole I'm weird and wonderful look into my eyes stuff.

Magical Chemistry: When you meet someone and you just click. Similarities, coincidences, surreal connection. Drawn like magnets into a blissful, fascinating and addictive existance.

  • Magic is Making Believe

Let's say I told you that I saw someone levitate. You wouldn't believe it. However, if I introduce you to David Blaine and he levitated on the street right before your eyes, he would MAKE you believe something that I wasn't able to do with just words. Therefore, magic is the ability to create an illusion to make you believe something instantly that you would never had believed otherwise. This is why the tale of Jesus took 50 years to be written. They had to wait a whole generation (almost two) so that true reports of him would be dead. With only hearsay left, the powers that be could weave a story with some magic to make it powerful enough for people to believe. That magic included walking on water, turning water into wine and surviving a crucifix. If there were no magic in the gospels no one would have given them any credence. Magic is the POWER to make people BELIEVE. It is deception as we all know today, but back then magic was really kept secret among the magicians. The people had no education and had NO ACCESSS TO KNOWLEDGE. The people were ignorant, in the dark, and essentially stupid. Unfortunately, magic still plays a big role in society today. Immature minds still believe in magic. That is why 9/11, the greatest magic trick in the history of the Western World was successful. People just believed what they saw and was told. The secret is that 9/11 was planned and executed by AMERICAN TERRORISTS. See. You still believe in magic and its power to MAKE you believe what the illusionist wants you to believe. There is still power in magic. Mostly because the masses are still ignorant of how magic works.
