The theory of the Whole

  • The Whole
As many philosophers of the past have stated, human (and any other living being's) existence is divided in two parts: Body and Soul, while modern scieces have proven that the whole universe (multiverse), and thus everything living in it, is made of energy.
My theory is a combination of these two. Indeed, everything is energy. Our bodies and souls are forms of energy. Different forms of energy, perhaps, but energy nevertheless. I strongly believe that, while each spirit/soul is a spark of the Whole, and thus independent as a being, it is part of a greater source as well, just like a spark jumping from a flame.
The greater source, the Whole, could be called 'God', or 'Gods', or whatever you like. 'God' is the multiverse as a whole, which could explain the theory that every living being has a divine spark (soul)... We're all part of the ultimate being.
The Whole, God, if you may, is a being of pure energy, and thus is genderless and has no specified form (most religions agree on that), which makes it quite impossible to understand it, since we can't be sure what that being looks like, or anything.
So that's where religion and faith come in: They try to define the Whole, giving it a form and a mission that fits their ideals.
To define 'God', one must have faith in his own beliefs, thus if one believes that 'God' is actually a whole group of 'Gods' and 'Godesses' (which is also my belief), then they become real, if only for his mind. Faith, in itself, is a highly creative, imaginative, and one might say, artistic process. Taking energy from the whole to create or change something is an art by itself, since it needs imagination to work... Now this is exactly the same as Magick. The process is the same (imagination+belief=outcome) only that Magick is more personal than faith, meaning that Magick requires personal energy that derives from the spark of a living being itself, while faith requires energy from the whole (which can be evoked by prayers, rituals etc.).
The last phenomenon I wanted to describe is reincarnation. First of all, as I said, we're all part of the Whole, but we still are independent. What I want to say with that is that as long as the spark of the Whole is one with the body, it's independent (though, of course, not completely, since it needs nourishment from the energy around to survive). However, when the body dies, the spark returns to the Whole, sharing its experiences of its past life with the rest of the energies of the multiverse, thus it becomes one with the Whole once more. These shared experiences, however, create new sparks. Some are identical to older ones, but lacking some of the memories they gathered, which may have been taken by other new sparks. This phenomenon might be the most usual form of reincarnation, but it's not the only one. The next category is that the newer sparks that are created, are completely different with older ones, but share some ideas with older ones. There might also be, of course, sparks that do not change at all, and return to life with most memories and ideas intact, but these reincarnations, I think, are very rare.
Personally I believe to be from the first category.

  • I believe,
That the body is energy, but the thing we know of as a soul, is simply who we are and how we act; the energy put forth to express ourselves makes up our soul.
