The Whole
As many philosophers of the past have stated, human (and any other living being's) existence is divided in two parts: Body and Soul, while modern scieces have proven that the whole universe (multiverse), and thus everything living in it, is made of energy.
My theory is a combination of these two. Indeed, everything is energy. Our bodies and souls are forms of energy. Different forms of energy, perhaps, but energy nevertheless. I strongly believe that, while each spirit/soul is a spark of the Whole, and thus independent as a being, it is part of a greater source as well, just like a spark jumping from a flame.
The greater source, the Whole, could be called 'God', or 'Gods', or whatever you like. 'God' is the multiverse as a whole, which could explain the theory that every living being has a divine spark (soul)... We're all part of the ultimate being.
The Whole, God, if you may, is a being of pure energy, and thus is genderless and has no specified form (most religions agree on that), which makes it quite impossible to understand it, since we can't be sure what that being looks like, or anything.
So that's where religion and faith come in: They try to define the Whole, giving it a form and a mission that fits their ideals.
To define 'God', one must have faith in his own beliefs, thus if one believes that 'God' is actually a whole group of 'Gods' and 'Godesses' (which is also my belief), then they become real, if only for his mind. Faith, in itself, is a highly creative, imaginative, and one might say, artistic process. Taking energy from the whole to create or change something is an art by itself, since it needs imagination to work... Now this is exactly the same as Magick. The process is the same (imagination+belief=outcome) only that Magick is more personal than faith, meaning that Magick requires personal energy that derives from the spark of a living being itself, while faith requires energy from the whole (which can be evoked by prayers, rituals etc.).
The last phenomenon I wanted to describe is reincarnation. First of all, as I said, we're all part of the Whole, but we still are independent. What I want to say with that is that as long as the spark of the Whole is one with the body, it's independent (though, of course, not completely, since it needs nourishment from the energy around to survive). However, when the body dies, the spark returns to the Whole, sharing its experiences of its past life with the rest of the energies of the multiverse, thus it becomes one with the Whole once more. These shared experiences, however, create new sparks. Some are identical to older ones, but lacking some of the memories they gathered, which may have been taken by other new sparks. This phenomenon might be the most usual form of reincarnation, but it's not the only one. The next category is that the newer sparks that are created, are completely different with older ones, but share some ideas with older ones. There might also be, of course, sparks that do not change at all, and return to life with most memories and ideas intact, but these reincarnations, I think, are very rare.
Personally I believe to be from the first category.

Excellent
Loved reading this thanks.Especially these parts:
"The greater source, the Whole, could be called 'God', or 'Gods', or whatever you like. 'God' is the multiverse as a whole, which could explain the theory that every living being has a divine spark (soul)... We're all part of the ultimate being."
"My theory is a combination of these two. Indeed, everything is energy. Our bodies and souls are forms of energy. Different forms of energy, perhaps, but energy nevertheless. I strongly believe that, while each spirit/soul is a spark of the Whole, and thus independent as a being, it is part of a greater source as well,"
"They try to define the Whole, giving it a form and a mission that fits their ideals."
Agreed.

If indeed there exists a god, there can only be one and not many as you seem to indicate as a possibility. God by definition is a perfect being. If god were in a multiple form then there would be multiple perfect beings. But if they were truly different beings, there would be a difference in their perfections which is impossible. Thus, if there was more than one god, those other gods must be identical to the one in power, knowledge, experience, authority, motives and the like. Even more so, they must occupy the same level of space and time so that there should be no difference in them whatsoever. The only means by which such a thing is conceivable, in my opinion, is if god exists as a single entity. This does not, however, thwart the ideas of a multi-person god acting in the same godhead.

I must admit that I know of no way the soul can be measured as energy, just like other forms can, but that doesn't mean that there won't be a way in the future, or that the theory is wrong in that matter, since the concept of the soul is still being researched by scientists around the world... We'll just have to wait and see...
As for the god question, I never said that we could 'create' several gods. I said that we can give a form that 'suits' us to the otherwise abstract mass of energy of the multiverse. Which means that all gods of all religions are not different beings, but aspects of the same one being (If you wish, the multi-person god).

( Isa 41:21 I am the LORD, the King of Israel! Come argue your case with me. Present your evidence.
Isa 41:22 Come near me, you idols. Tell us about the past, and we will think about it. Tell us about the future, so we will know what is going to happen.
Isa 41:23 Prove that you are gods by making your predictions come true. Do something good or evil, so we can be amazed and terrified.
Isa 41:24 You idols are nothing, and you are powerless. To worship you would be disgusting. ) (CEV) Yes, in the Bible, God explains to us what has happened and what is about to happen as proof that He alone is God.
I submit the following as proof of the bible and the existence of God.

While you made some good points, there is no need for beings of perfection sharing this perfection from being seperate in space time, or even that they must occupy space time if transcendent. Positioning does not equate to the ideal of perfection, particularly when it would have no effect on the entity due to its supposed ability to do virtually 'anything'.frndofyaweh

THREE not TWO
God created man in His image. Mudgod is correct, but that spiritual image is a trinity.1. Soul is conscience or mind, parallel to the likeness of Father.
2. Spirit is the energy of us(that can be measured), parallel to the Holy Spirit.
3. Flesh or body is our vessel or binding of the other two, parallel to The Son or God in the flesh.
See the parable? Jesus also is the binding for us to the Father and His will is carried out by His Spirit.
This is the same for a human("Man is created in Their image" Read that Genesis passage one more time)

I agree with you to some extent. I've read similar arguments before. My belief is still in god as a single entity, and this relates to the interpersonal differences that must arise within a number of gods. As more than one god must indicate some level of difference, there is something that separates them from one another. But perfection is something that is whole, a priori if I'm not mistaken (which I could be for I've been before). Thank you for your comments, though. They were as thoughtful as they were diplomatic. I appreciate both.August 21, 2007

"Purna Mantra" - Om purnamadah, purnamidam purnat purnamudachyate, purnasya purnamadaya purnamevavashishyate.
This is the Whole, that is the Whole. From the Whole springs the Whole. If the Whole is taken from the Whole, only the Whole remains.

The Falcon
Our soul is the rhythm of the Universe and life beating itself. If we can not allow ourselves to recongnize that even the unnoticed synchronies of our electrochemistry exist to serve the harmony of our souls in the presence of an ever eternal infinite universe then we are truly primitive and evil. All creation is created for the harmony of joy and procreation. Our hormones secrete because our health requires it and our health needs to be well and in that our health requires that we are happy and in harmony.Molzahn
