Boredom is wrath, and is caused by the Guarantee.Boredom isn't fun, but it seems very hard to escape for a lot of people. Just give them something to do right? They get bored of it. It's can become a vicious cycle!Voted for by Hamumori.
I put it to you that boredom is the reverse side of wrath. When someone puts their foot down, the objective is to get what they want. Then they get it, and that's that. You want a computer game, you buy it. That's that. If you can't get it, there are of course many varied responses other than getting angry, like frustration, resignation, or inquiry. But what happens if you always get what you want? You want more and more right? And become less and less pleased when you can't get it?
What does a bored person want? The first answer that presents itself is 'nothing'. But it's the opposite, they want everything, and exist denied of it. 'Hey friend X, what would you do if you ran the world?' A bored person will always come up with something. And you will find that the more lazy someone is, the easier they get annoyed at tiny things. 'I told you I WANTED THE PEPSI!'
The Guarantee: Human rights, legal rights, contracts in general. Without any effort, you have already achieved A PURCHASE. This is Marx's worldwide signifier - capital. You own THIS. Your legalised body, the right not to be tortured, the right to freedom of thought, is a kind of capital provided as part of membership of the Geneva Convention-defined human race. Millions have died before us so that a worldwide system has emerged to give us these things, so we do not have to experience them first to know they are things to be avoided. But this system cannot stop there, it must incorporate all experiences and all things, so that they can be prejudged, given a value.
Boredom is a high relative level of acceptance of this system. You do not have to experience things first to know them - that is provided for you already, somewhere. Information capital.

Not being bored
It's the simple things in life that apease boredom. Ironically they also teach you patience and diligence."I love my job."
"My house is humble, but just what's needed and I love that about my house."
Contentment and peace of heart and mind squelches boredom.
What do you say of a man, who is rarely bored or never bored and yet, patient and hardworking, dependable and not prone to selfish wrath?

yeah
but where do these images of accomplishment come from? some evil despot is stamping predesigned dreams onto the foreheads of people who aren't in a position to fulfill them!for example, if you are bored, and you look for something to do in your life, you always look in the closest places right? i wanna be a rock star, or, ill take anything. in the case of rock stars, or screenwriters, fashion models, rocket scientists, if there is something really easy you like doing, the competition to get to even subsistence level income on that 'dream' is immensely hard. in the case of whatever pays the bills, there are any number of minimum wage jobs around, filled with people who wished they were doing something else (rock star).
so the guarantee is, you are always given what you want by your parents, by the store clerk. what if you wanna be a rock star? sloth is supreme effort for no reward.

It sounds as though...
... you are describing frustration and resignation and has very little to do with boredom at all Hamumori.I wanted to be a rock star by the way, until I realised I can't sing worth a lick.
I was not disappointed and not resigned. I was however refined. I simply chose another route to the same interest and love it just the same. That could be resignation, but I like to believe it is more of determination.

youre right
i wandered off a little bit, had other things on my mind. theyre connected though im sure. behind boredom are many things you could be doing but silence them before they get too large in your mind. if that consideration-blocker becomes more irregular, ie it lets more minority, opposing thoughts take hold of you, then you feel frustrated at something. "well WHY NOT?!" boredom then becomes simply quiet frustrationbut yeah, those whynots are the powerful forces in life, and would have taken you on that alternative route to rock.
