Does Little Man Syndrome Exist?

Little man syndrome, a term used by a lot of people around my neck of the woods (not sure about yours) is used to describe a rather short man or woman who sometimes bears cocky attitude, but always is one who attempts to make up for his/her size by openly or discreetly increasing the size of what they do...For example, my older brother is 5'6 and attempts to make up for his little man syndrome by having huge tires on his truck, a huge TV, a huge couch, a huge appitite, and is rather cocky and REALLY over protective. The classic little man. When confronted by a friend he denied it agressively, and was countered with 'DUDE! Everytime we all go fishing you have the biggest fishing rod!' Which is very true. His pole is like a foot longer than everyone elses.

As you can read above, I've had first-hand experiences with little man syndrome. I suppose it's a way to not feel threatened by bigger people, people with advantages because of thier size. I myself don't feel threatened. I like being smaller. I don't feel threatened...I feel special. Fun-size.

  • Definately
A lot of men or women who may be slightly vertically challenged often behave this way. A bit like small dogs, very yappy with a lot to prove or so they seem to feel.

  • In A Sense
Everyone (except certain submissive people) is selfish. The only difference is with giants and the over-tall this is suggested to be a 'good' thing, they are implied to be capable of 'leadership qualities' (maybe in a fight this would be true but in a democracy or peacetime it's more of a psychological belief caused by conditioning) 'Shorter' people are discriminated against in that it gets made into a 'little man syndrome' or into having a 'chip on their shoulder'. This might have nothing to do with height, but just be the natural selfishness inherent within everyone.
On that point, I wonder if 'black man syndrome' is responsible for black people being arrogant enough to want the best for themselves... just kidding. I don't believe in hate and stereotypes based on physical appearance.

People have their way of putting things as per their perspective not that everyone would agree but just that they say things for the sake of it.
