How do you feel about Sadaam taking the swing?

Do you agree with the hanging of Sadaam (saddam, sadam, whatever, I'm really kind of sleepy right now) being hung? I myself, even against the death penelty (because a few weeks or days or something ago, some guy took like 45 minutes to die in the chair by the injection I think) and think it's unfair to kill someone...I'm happy he's swinging. We KNOW and have WITNESSED his awful crimes...He's the one man I believe REALLY got what he deserved.
  • Wrong Decision
Bottom line: two wrongs don't make a right, lock him up, but what is killing him proving. (not to say he wasn't an evil man)

  • I felt sad for him
I have been ingrained from birth with a form of over the top pity for the 'bad dude'; if you block your mind of what they did to 'deserve it', it seems as if they are the most persecuted and ill treated people on the planet. I felt sorry for sadaam. As I watched them take him up to the rope, and the look on his face, I didn't feel any different than I would have if they had hung schappelle corby (hope you guys know her, supposedly innocent australian convicted for life for drug trafficking in bali). I don't find pleasure in it. He was a man, nonetheless. Contrary to popular belief, he still has feelings. When someone goes evil, it doesn't necessarily mean that they lose an inner innocence.

  • The man deseved it
i don't understand how ppl can say the death penalty 4 saddam is wrong, saddam hussien killed lots of people. shouldn't he have to go through what they went through? i think it is wrong that we went into iraq in the first place, but since we did and there is no changing that, why shouldn't we kill the man who has already removed and ruined the lives of many? just a thought...

  • Oh Boy.
At least now I dont have to fear about any more of Sadaams' killings and terrorism.

But there is always the fear of his remaining cronies coming after America again.

  • too merciful
Hanging was too good for Saddam. after all the torture and murder that took place during his regime, I think it would have been more appropriate to sew him up into a pigskin, and bury him alive.

someone was killed in the middle east!?!?!?!?!

    i think it's greatly over-rated...
i mean, hell, it's not like it was really ever our fight to begin with...

  • I feel bad for our society
Okay, I know the man deserved it. Well, hello..he killed many people, who doesn't deserve it.

But, I don't like the way this was done. Why didn't he get a trial at the International Court of Justice in Haag, just like almost every other "political monster" did?

Someone might argue with me and say..well, there was nothing to prove, the man killed people and USA just gave him the "punishment". Where was USA when Sllobodan Milosevic of Serbia was killing hundreds and thousands of Albanian ethnic people in Kosova? I mean, Milosevic went to get his trial at Haag, like the rules said.
Where is USA when Cubans were getting killed by Fidel Castro? Where? Why only Middle East?

There are three kinds of peoples in this world:
-the masses of people whose opinions are not really theirs
-the spectators who choose not to do anything
-and the ones who control everyone, with subtle ways

ps. if they can do that to an important political figure (even though negative), I don't want to know what they can do to us, common people with no influence on others whatsoever.
