[Music / lyrics: Jerry Herman
From the musical 'La cage aux folles']
I am what I am
I am my own special creation
So come take a look
Give me the hook or the ovation
It's my world that I want to have a little pride in
My world and it's not a place I have to hide in
Life's not worth a damn till you can say
Hey world I am what I am
I am what I am
I don't want praise I don't want pity
I bang my own drum
Some think it's noise
I think it's pretty
And so what if I love each feather and each spangle
Why not try and see things from a different angle
Your life is a sham till you can say
Hey world I am what I am
I am what I am
And what I am needs no excuses
I deal my own deck
Sometimes the ace
Sometimes the deuces
It's my life and there's no return and no deposit
One life, so it's time to open up your closet
Life's not worth a damn till you can say
Hey world I am what I am
Do you agree with this song ? Do you agree that "Lifes Not worth a damn till you can say hey world I am what I am " ?
I think this song should be everyones theme song in life.

NoYou can have this if you want, but I don't want to bang my own drum. God rules over me, and decides what I do. Without Him, I reflect nothing. May I ever increase in such a reflection. I am not my own creation. You are not yourself. You belong to the forces of darkness or the forces of light. There is no in between.40% Voted for by TeChNoWC, Hekate.

Switzerland never chose sides, TeCh...So why can't us few just be neutral? -
definitlyit makes alot of sense i mean how can anyone ever be happy if they are constantly tryin to change and are never happy with themselves? how do you live a actual valued life if all you do is wory about what people think of you? i'm no beauty queen nor am i perfect but i am completly happy with myself and i am a happy person.Voted for by XInSaNiTy-FaIrX.

i have my own drum and i can honestly say not very many hands have been beating it but it is my drum and it is a sound i can dance to and live my life in "peace and happiness."
such things are not all found in the same place and it is our mission in life to find it.

A murderer does not have the freedom to be who they are. There are always limits. My ideas just push even further these limitations, while others are trying to force them back.

I didn't one day instill myself with the fear of God. God did.
This song is vulgar and I don't like it. This is my reaction to it. Why try and find a paradox among that? We are talking of subjective opinion. However, Kari asked if everyone enjoys this song and agrees with the statement that it should be their theme song in life, and I disagree. I despise it.
Find whatever contradictions you like in that, it doesn't automatically make me feel different because of logical glitch.
I think we all realise that the intentions of this song are not to tell someone that they should submit to their inner personalities, but rather they are permissible to be whoever they want to be. If that were true, then we wouldn't have a legal system. THAT is the true hypocritical bullshite among this whole mess. That we can be whoever we are, but once someone does something that we view as wrong, then it is a different story. Make up your minds. We either have enforcement, or we don't.
Your freedom will lead to anarchy and destruction. God Bless.
