How do you envision, or what do you hope, the world will be like in the future? I am not talking about Sci-fi, I mean the human condition – globally.

personally...28% Voted for by Mujtaba H Zaidi, ohsweetie2788.
i see the violence and evils of the world getting worse until it is so bad that the entire world (all the leaders) get together to make one rule or one law system and everything is uniform then we can have peace…it will be like dictatorship unfortunately in my opinion but there will be peace until a rebellion occurs.

I have a dreamVoted for by Matt F.
I originally wrote this for one of our regional newspapers that was asking readers for their own versions of Dr. Martin Luther King’s famous speach (in honor of Black History Month). This is in the same spirit as King’s, but with a global twist.
I have a dream: That one day, not just Americans, but citizens of the world will look back on today and the 20th century in wander. That my children, if I am blessed to have them, will find it hard to believe that people were once divided socially and economically by race. That they will not be able to find, anywhere in their college text books, words that propagate the view that we are still different from each other simply because of our nationality, ethnicity, or because we subscribe to a different belief system. That these things will only be reviewed by historians for research. I have a dream.
I have a dream: That one day my grandchildren will find it hard to believe that women were once held at a different standard than men. That we had a global economy centered around a fossil fuel that polluted the biosphere. That we once chose to sleep in our own filth. That they will scratch their heads at the notion that people would once scramble for currency like moths to the flame, and push other people in front of them like shields. I have this dream.
I have a dream: That one day my great grandchildren will find it hard to believe the horror stories about how armies of men and women would kill each other for the whims and purses of their leaders. That religion was used as a motivational tool for foot soldiers. That poor men were blind to the economic forces that drove wars throughout history. That people once tortured each other and purposely starved whole nations for gain. I have had this dream.

POLARIZATION....!!!Voted for by Mujtaba H Zaidi.
The world has been serving as a miserable battlefield where hundreds of men, women, children, civilions, senior citizens and militants are killed mercilessly. It looks as the world must be divided into two extreme groups of people. There would be utter polarization and there must be complete hatred group for the other. And the innocent people will be massacred in the world war subsequently. Then an other world shall be in its wake full of peace, harmony and civilisation. And the world War III might occur due to religious extremist as well as lots of debauchery and social injustice and crimes. The "have-nots" may strive against the "haves". Thus religious extremism, debauchery, fornication, homosexuality, unequal distribution of wealth and absence of social justice may lead the whole world towards the way of destruction, war, massacre and turmoil!!!!

I believe that in just a hundred years the world will be more accepting of others. Prejudice is still rearing it's ugly face, but we have come a long way in just ten years as to how we treat others. Soon there will be little to no racism and sexism. Hopefully homophobia will disappear and everyone will get along. Or we will all be consumed with hate and kill each other into extinction.
