Jesus dieing for our sins?
In the old days, it was thought that one died if they accumulated too much sin. Now a man, presumably without sin dies? what is the next correlating thought for the simpleton? (keep in mind he was thought to be a god incarnate) ofcourse, the commoner would think he died for them.
hypothetically, this is where the myth of jesus dieing for our sins came from.

Dollar:The Bible covers those who do not hear the news of Christ. Now of days, that is almost unheard of, as missions have reached every part of our globe.
Molzahn: Jesus took on the sin debt of all mankind that lived or will ever live. Once the sin was on Him, God being pure goodness turned away from Jesus, while he hung dying on the cross.
Jesus then looked up and said, "Father, why hast thou forsaken(left) me?" Jesus was human and he was a blood sacrifice. He felt the Holy Spirit of God leave Him, as the sin of man became His burden.
Once Jesus died he went to Sheol(Hebrew: side of the pit) which is in Hell and paid for those sins for us, so we have a choice to not pay ourselves.
Jesus stayed three days in Sheol. THis was not coincidence, as it was customary for the Jewish to officially declare one deceased, once one was dead for exactly three days.
Then Jesus arose and brought forth from Sheol all the saints of old times. Ezekial, Noah, Moses, Abraham himself as well. All of them and Jesus too, were seen by many walking about the city of Jerusaleum for 40 days and nights.
The four Gospels were written by a surgeon, a reporter, a fisherman and a tax collector/merchant. The stories were based on hundreds of eyewitness accounts, over a period of 40 days. Not just the witness accounts that were chosen, for the Bible we have today.

here is a story for you, it always gets me
so there is a priest in this poor south american country, and he was late to celebrate mass. the ppl start commenting among themselves when he comes in with a big cage in his hands. he puts it aside and goes up and starts speaking:"as i was coming to celebrate mass i found a little boy how had a big cage with vultures in it. he was kicking the cage, throwing it around and pokeing the vultures with sticks. so i said to the boy to leave them alone. he looked up at me and smiled, saying only if you give me fifty dollars (thats a lot of money for some vultures imagine in a poor south american country). i thought about it and then gave him the fifty dollars he asked for, set them free and came here."
then the priest started again: "so one day God was walking along and he finds satan. he had something within his hands. he gets close and finds out its humanity. God asked what he was doing with humanity. his reponse was that he was teaching all forms of distruction: physically, mentally, and spiritually. he was teaching them all forms of killing even before that life could defend itself, all form of degrating behavior, putting less the values of life that brought true happiness. then God tells satan what do you want to set them free from you clutches. he smiles and looks up at God. he then says every drop of your blood."
the preast stops a second and then starts
again: "then God incarnated himself as a human and gave every drop of his blood to free us from satan´s clutches. in the process telling us the meaning of our existance... to LOVE. for it can only be real and true when freely given, when it is an unconditional and unmotivated LOVE."
one of those stories you just done forget if you have faith

Jesus' Atonement
For God to demand the torture death of his Son is very sadistic. I personally believe that the crucifixition was the will of man, because the love Jesus lived was too threatening. But it was the will of God for Jesus to be ressurected, and in so, conquering sin (the literal Hebrew, "het" means "error" not "evil") and death, opening the door to the ressurrection of all."For as all in Adam shall die, so shall in Christ all be made alive." 1 Corinthians 15:22
BTW fryndyofywh or however you spelled it, the Gospels aren't 100% accurate eyewitness accounts because the earliest Gospel, Mark, was written no less than 25 years after the crucifixition/ressurection of Jesus. If Mark was really an associate of Peter, as tradition tells, then it would be a pretty good account, but it probably doesn't contain all of what Jesus actually said or did.
To give the Bible, a book written, compiled, translated, edited, and interpreted by humans, the "inerrant" status of God is biblioidolatry, making an idol out of the Bible, which IMO is blaphsemy and in violation of the First Commandment.

glad to see you're a fan ... *cough* lol
You, presenting your opinion with belittlement and insult, prove yourself equally as ignorant and arrogant. If you decide to say specifically what you disagree with, I can further my point for your specific understanding. And who's theologies are you refering to? who's philosophy? get back to me with that

DOES GOD DIE ? STOP INSULTING GOD
If Jesus is God, how can God die?Who was running the universe those three days that Jesus was dead?
HOW CAN GOD DIE?
HOW COULD JESUS DIE IF HE IS GOD, GOD DOES NOT DIE’
What answer do you have for the above ?

as much as i find distaste in this ideology, ---but woa, thinking about it, that would be to say that jesus was only a channel for Yaweh, not a god in his own... maybe anyway - its all up to interpretation
