If Jesus was a living man, did Judas really betray him? For 30 silver coins? As the story goes, Judas, grassed Jesus out for 30 coins to the romans and showed which one was Jesus by kissing him on the cheek. But recently a new gospel has been uncovered. The gospel according to Judas and inside it states, that Judas was Jesus best friend and he was asked by Jesus to betray him... "So he asks Judas, who is his friend, to sell him out, to betray him. It's treason to the general public, but between Jesus and Judas it's not treachery." After Judas took his own life. So what do you think, did Judas do what he said in his gospel or is it just a made up story to clear his name?

Pffftttt
The "Gospel" of Judas was supposedly written 200 years after the death of Jesus. Obviously, no one connected with Jesus or Judas wrote it. Just another attempt by Satan to subvert the true gospel of Jesus. As it says in Revelations, Satan decieves the whole world. The gospel of Jesus is the soon coming Kingdom of God.

www.nationalgeographic.com/lostgospel/_pdf/GospelofJudas.pdf
A gave it a read through, and even if it doesn't clear judas, it still shows an interesting side of jesus, claiming that he laughed at, mocked and scorned his deciples. (radio carbon dating revealed the gospel of judas to be written between A.D. 220 and 340.)
If nothing else, it gives a clearer look into the human that was jesus.

Judas gospel a hoax
the gospel of Judas is a hoax. it was not even written in Judas lifetime.
Judas had become disillusioned with Christ when it became clear to him that Jesus had never meant to free Judea from the Roman yoke, but intended a more spiritual freedom for all mankind, including Romans.
So, Judas sought out the Pharisees and High Priests, and offered his services to them. They promised him a great reward if he would help them arrest Jesus, so he told them where to look for him. Judas then returned to the desciples, and joined them for supper, but it soon became clear to Judas that the jig was up. Christ warned them that there was a betrayer in their midst. Judas left the supper and ran back to fetch the soldiers. at this time Christ was praying in the Garden of Gethsamine, when the soldiers came to arrest him. Jesus asked "whom do you seek?" they said "Jesus of Nazareth", Jesus said "I am he". Now, had Judas done nothing further from this point, events would have unfolded exactly as they had been fortold, and Judas might have been able to be saved, but he had to make a showing for himself, to show the Pharisees that he was on their side, so he whispered to the leader of the soldiers,"the man that I kiss is Christ". he then went up to Jesus and said "hail, master and teacher" and kissed him. Now, THAT didn't fool anybody! Jesus already knew what Judas was up to, and Judas Knew it, and Jesus had already warned the desciples, so they knew, too. Judas came off looking like a real coward in from of his new allies, and they shunned him. when Judas went to the temple to collect his reward, a servant came to meet him with a purse of 30 silver coins, and told him that the Pharisees did not want to see him any more. When he confronted them, tortured by guilt, and the realization that he was now truly alone, without friends, He tried to give the money back, but the priests did not want it, so he threw it into the temple and went out and hanged himself, never knowing that, if he had waited 3 days, he would have seen the glory of the risen Christ, and his sins would have been forgiven. The money that had been given to Judas? it was used to buy a potter's field to bury the poor in
Thus ends the tale of Judas Iscariot, one of the Bibles least likeable Characters. Here was a guy who walked with the Lord himself, yet never understood the message, because he wanted God on his terms instead of submitting himself to the Lord, and in the end, commited one of the lowliest, most cowardly acts of betrayal in history. Weep for him.

You are all FOOLS!!!
Judas did indeed betray Jesus, but not as the current interpretations of the Bible suggest. Although Judas walked with Jesus for part of his life, he had no faith. His academic knowledge clouded his faith. He had to "see it to believe it" and with Jesus he did. Judas genuinely loved Jesus, and it puzzled him as to why the jews had rejected Jesus. He thought that Jesus should "prove" Himself to the Jews, so that they, as him, would believe and accept Him as their Messiah. But Jesus had nothing to prove. The jews needed to come to believe in Him solely on faith, or reject Him in non belief. Judas did not understand this.He knew that if he approached Jesus with the idea of going to jerusalem to "demonstrate", that Jesus would reject this, so he went behind Jesus's back to arrange it with the high priests to have Jesus come to Jerusalem
to prove Himself to the jews. He originally planned to bring Jesus to Jerusalem himself with the help of the other disciples, but the romans declined. They were looking for a way to arrest Jesus and this was the perfect opportunity. They offered to pay Judas to reveal to them the location and identity of Jesus, then they, the romans, would approach Him and "cordially" invite him to jerusalem. This is what Judas was lead to believe. You all know how the story ends.
He did what he did out of "ignorance", not intending to bring danger to Jesus. Although this may seem like a betrayal, allow me to explain how it was not.
Jesus knew of His service to God and of his pending sacrifice. He knew when, where and how it would happen and who would be involved. He knew this even as he had chosen Judas as one of the twelve. He had chosen judas for this very purpose. In respect of Judas's initial actions, who did he betray? Certainly not God, as it was through the actions of Judas that the fulfillment of the "Will of God" was initiated. He didn't betray Jesus as He had chosen Judas for this purpose, and he didn't betray the christians, for, after all is said and done, are they not the ones who benefit?
Judas's "lack of faith" is where he betrayed Jesus. Out of his lack of faith, his shame and humiliation of realizing that he, himself had been set up, and his fear of having to face Jesus, account for his ignorance and ask forgiveness,he took his own life. If Judas had, had the faith and courage to face Jesus, account for his ignorance and ask forgiveness, he would have been forgiven and granted authority to write a Gospel within the new Testament. Through his faith and his own personal experience, his testimony would have carried an even greater message of faith than any of the other Apostles. "This" was his betrayal of Jesus! You see? It wasn't what he "DID" that betrayed Jesus, but moreso, it was what he "Didn't Do", that betrayed Jesus.
If Judas had changed his mind on that fateful eve, backed out of his arrangement with the romans and declined to reveal the whereabouts and identity of Jesus, then Jesus may never have been arrested, the crucifixion and resurrection may never have taken place, the "Will of God" left unfulfilled and christianity may never have come into existence! This would have been an even greater "betrayal" than the one he has been condemned for over the past 2000 years!
If you seek an understanding of the Truth within the word God has spoken, grab yourself a pair of spiritual bi-focals,and read "between" the lines!
