Gospel according to Judas

If Jesus was a living man, did Judas really betray him? For 30 silver coins? As the story goes, Judas, grassed Jesus out for 30 coins to the romans and showed which one was Jesus by kissing him on the cheek. But recently a new gospel has been uncovered. The gospel according to Judas and inside it states, that Judas was Jesus best friend and he was asked by Jesus to betray him... "So he asks Judas, who is his friend, to sell him out, to betray him. It's treason to the general public, but between Jesus and Judas it's not treachery." After Judas took his own life. So what do you think, did Judas do what he said in his gospel or is it just a made up story to clear his name?

The "Gospel" of Judas was supposedly written 200 years after the death of Jesus. Obviously, no one connected with Jesus or Judas wrote it. Just another attempt by Satan to subvert the true gospel of Jesus. As it says in Revelations, Satan decieves the whole world. The gospel of Jesus is the soon coming Kingdom of God.

A gave it a read through, and even if it doesn't clear judas, it still shows an interesting side of jesus, claiming that he laughed at, mocked and scorned his deciples. (radio carbon dating revealed the gospel of judas to be written between A.D. 220 and 340.)

If nothing else, it gives a clearer look into the human that was jesus.

  • Judas gospel a hoax
the gospel of Judas is a hoax. it was not even written in Judas lifetime.

Judas had become disillusioned with Christ when it became clear to him that Jesus had never meant to free Judea from the Roman yoke, but intended a more spiritual freedom for all mankind, including Romans.
So, Judas sought out the Pharisees and High Priests, and offered his services to them. They promised him a great reward if he would help them arrest Jesus, so he told them where to look for him. Judas then returned to the desciples, and joined them for supper, but it soon became clear to Judas that the jig was up. Christ warned them that there was a betrayer in their midst. Judas left the supper and ran back to fetch the soldiers. at this time Christ was praying in the Garden of Gethsamine, when the soldiers came to arrest him. Jesus asked "whom do you seek?" they said "Jesus of Nazareth", Jesus said "I am he". Now, had Judas done nothing further from this point, events would have unfolded exactly as they had been fortold, and Judas might have been able to be saved, but he had to make a showing for himself, to show the Pharisees that he was on their side, so he whispered to the leader of the soldiers,"the man that I kiss is Christ". he then went up to Jesus and said "hail, master and teacher" and kissed him. Now, THAT didn't fool anybody! Jesus already knew what Judas was up to, and Judas Knew it, and Jesus had already warned the desciples, so they knew, too. Judas came off looking like a real coward in from of his new allies, and they shunned him. when Judas went to the temple to collect his reward, a servant came to meet him with a purse of 30 silver coins, and told him that the Pharisees did not want to see him any more. When he confronted them, tortured by guilt, and the realization that he was now truly alone, without friends, He tried to give the money back, but the priests did not want it, so he threw it into the temple and went out and hanged himself, never knowing that, if he had waited 3 days, he would have seen the glory of the risen Christ, and his sins would have been forgiven. The money that had been given to Judas? it was used to buy a potter's field to bury the poor in

Thus ends the tale of Judas Iscariot, one of the Bibles least likeable Characters. Here was a guy who walked with the Lord himself, yet never understood the message, because he wanted God on his terms instead of submitting himself to the Lord, and in the end, commited one of the lowliest, most cowardly acts of betrayal in history. Weep for him.
