morality or legality

• I choose my personal morality

  first I must point out that each person's opion on what morality is could be completly differant, but for me the only thing that matters to me is what i beleive is right, understand that I am not saying that i believe that other peoples belifes are less justified then mine if they disagree with what i believe.
  
  WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT TO YOU LAW OR YOU PERSONAL BELIFE IN RIGHT AND WRONG? I WILL ALWAYS DO FIRST WHAT I THINK RIGHT AND IF THAT BRAKES THE LAW I WILL HUMBLY STAND BEFORE THE COURT AND PLEAD GUILTY AND ACCEPT THE PRICE.
  
  Do you choose to do accept what is legal wether you beleive it is right or wrong? or do you do what you feel you should or must according to to what you call right and wrong and pay the price if you must?

    Sometimes though you need to think of responsibility of the punishment and if it's worth it. I smoke weed and drank before 21, go in parks after they're closed, jaywalk, etc. But some things the punishment is more than a slap on the wrist, even if I don't think it's that wrong. As long as this thing isn't something horrible, like freeing a slave for an easy example, I usually just abide by it, cause...what do I care?

    What I got out of that was that if you believe that you should kill someone you'd go and do it. That may be taking it slightly harsh but Im assuming your aware of the crazy line that would be oh so easy to cross.

      And the alternative is to do whatever the law commands or allows, including owning slaves, no freedom of speech, no trial by jury, no protests, arranged marriages, etc. That's an easy line to cross too. You need to do what you feel is right in a responsible manner. If you feel laws are unjust, try to change them--but don't take the battle alone and go charging in openly. Make a point for reform, and if you are willing to live with the potential consequences, break the law. Otherwise, obey it for what you think is better off way anyways. It's how the world has always been and will always be. Society will not exist fruitfully without a decent balance.

    destiny hmmm... interesting... bet that is an argument i might like to debate later, but please i think that is an argument that could vary easily destract people from the point of the argument.
    
    oh and i didn't specifically mean killing though that was the question i was asking myself when i wrote the topic

    I agree with that. Some laws and accepted things in history were crap and shouldnt have been listened to. But if your going to comment on owning slaves not everyone did. To my knowledge it wasnt a law to own slaves. I guess it depends on the situation as to how exactly I'd respond.

    I completely agree that morality overrules. Think, how did government get started? Without peoples ideas of right and wrong we wouldn't have had a government to start with. Again it's true that we have our own views.And technically the law tells us to follow our morality,"Pursuit of Hapiness"? You're not happy if you're following an unjust law.

    There is no such thing as “sin,” only experience. Many will claim that without law and the idea of “sin” there would be anarchy and chaos, when in fact it is man’s law and need for control that have created the chaos we are in now. If you don’t think we are in a state of chaos, just watch the news for one night. That’s all you see, and yet, we have so many laws, rules, and regulations, that you would think we were working all this time to prevent just this sort of turmoil. Society in general should be proof that man’s laws do not make life happier or safer, and they certainly do not prevent turmoil. In fact, the very act of trying to control that which you have no control over initiates turmoil and chaos, especially when the laws you are trying to control with are not absolute. There is always an exception to every one of man’s laws, especially if your pockets are big enough. The laws of God are not the 10 commandments. How convenient that man has been able to use the tablets that Moses supposedly introduced to instigate fear as a means of controlling the masses. Again, these are man’s law. The only true and binding laws are the laws of nature. The law of physics, the law of relativity, the law of planetary motion, the law of magnetism, etc… cannot be bribed, altered, or manipulated. That is the difference between God’s law and man’s law. Sure, you can fly in an airplane that seems to “defy” the law of gravity, but in fact the airplane is still working within the law; not against it. In the gospels of Mary Magdala, the Christ even stated “[Do] not lay down any rule beyond what I determined for you, nor promulgate law like the lawgiver, or else you might be dominated by it." Obviously, we are dominated by it, and we dominate each other by it as well. Do no the animals exist just fine within their own communities without laws and regulations?
