there is no sky

  • Hmmmm...
I think that there IS a sky, but it's not what I'd consider a 'touchable' noun. It's a verbal noun, a word that refers to an idea, or something in that neighborhood. When you think about it, a lot of different elements of 'there' make up the sky: Atmosphere, ozone, color wavelengths (blue making up our 'sky' due to it being the shortest wavelength).

We use 'sky' to say 'ozone, atmosphere, blue, and sun, along with solar radiation and energy. Harmful UV rays.'

Sky is a real thing. It's a term.

If sky refers to different levels of atmosphere, then yes. But as a generality? its basically metaphoric

  • Don't get caught up in names of objects
The sky doesn't even have to have a name. The only reason it does is so you can communicate your thoughts, feelings and observations to others. It also helps to increase your awareness, which is why intelligence is based much on verbal acuity. But as long as you know that the sky is up there then you have the knowledge you need about it unless you want to study it further. If you study it further, you become part of an elite class of people. Never deny that you are part of that elite. But also be aware that those with less understanding or less interest cannot be as enthusiasthic about your exploration. Thus, you reach a level where you inquire about the simple meaning of the word sky when you have a complex understanding of it. For lay people it's enough just to refer to sky when you mean other things that compose it. For people who are illerate, a simple pointing upward will do.

  • sky...
only reason this is debatable is because it has always been used as a thing by our ancesters that was also unatain able due to the fact that they could not fly. today this term has praticly has been changed to atmosphere. so there. and has also been used by those still on the ground to express that which goes higher... to the sky.

  • there is no sky
i think there is no such thing as a sky i think tere is just air, the couse of the blue in the sky is ligt revlecting off of the air and being bent/ reflected. if you think of it when your in the so called air everything around you is blue but in a distance so tecnicaly you could never truely be in the sky. and if to say there was a sky then you would be saying we are in the sky right now concidering the air getts no different as you go up the only difference is the hight in were the air is placed from the ground and even then the air could come down (wind)and then it would not be sky anymore but whos to say were sky ends and there fore who is to say were it starts, i say it dosnt

    --- what do you think??
