Why Do We Exist?

What is our purpose in the world? Do you think we have a specific reason for being here, or do you think a reason is unecessary?

Maybe the question cannot be answered in words. maybe it has to be answered in an enlightened way instead of logical or intellectual. Maybe even beyond enlightened! what do you think?

I believe

I believe that we exist because God is building a family. That we eventually will be God as God is God. Everything written in the Bible is based on family. We are created in God's image. We are here to build perfect character. Because we choose (when Adam and Eve choose the knowledge of good and evil over eternal life) to have free will, He cannot create perfect character in us by fiat. We must prove our worthiness by keeping His laws, His government. Jesus came to preach the gospel of the soon coming Kingdom of God. It is all about His rulership and our obedience.

No. How we live. How we go about life. Why we live is a pointless question because there is no point and there is no answer. In considering there must be an answer promotes searching. We are here so therefore we are found. No search is necessary. Searching is just the brain trying to alleviate boredom. It gets addicted to searching because the process of "the search" takes one "out of it". It takes one OUT OF RELATING. Searching is motivated by a desire to avoid relationship. All addictions are about avoiding relationships of which searching is but one. You are HERE NOW, SO you are FOUND.

    "Dismissed" is your definition. I haven't used it. As far as i understand only a very minor percentage of the brain is used to scrutinise and evaluate. It is only these areas that become silent. Thoughts are a constant internal dialogue. With no dialogue there is no belief or assumptions or analysis or thought. It is not like cutting one's head off. When thoughts stop there is no self for the senses to tell stuff to (sensations or sense-ations). When thoughts are on my senses tell me (me being my self). It sounds like "the tree falling in the forest" analogy, doesnt it?

If there is a point there is a point. I just don't see any point in searching for a point. And what is a point anyway? My answer would be a point to view from. In other words "a point of view". And as all points of view are relative then by their relativity they must cancel each other out. And why search for a viewpoint? If we find this viewpoint we will only be finding a view relative to each of our mind's perspective. By it's relative nature it cannot be a universal truth. The point that one views the universe from is the self. And as we can see there are many, many millions of selfs. The only concept that I can say is universal is that this "self" (which is the point FROM where things are viewed AT) is an illusion. The universe from a point of view is life looked AT and not life looked INTO. (So now you have yet another point of view to view, or, maybe you might want to do more than view it. Care to look INTO it?)

Why do they cancel each other out?

Everything is relative to the self. Purpose is as real as a rock is. It is all of the mind.

If we were to consider that in fact we were all ONE (you are the universe and the universe is you) then any viewpoint (personal perception of just one particular finite self within an infinite universe) then anything experienced through the filters (conditioned beliefs stored as memory) that make up self is relative to this conditioned self. As ONE (all essence) relativity must not exist. In an experience of this ONENESS it is easy to concieve of such.

    Idon't know about the control bit. Things happen to me whether i go along with it or not. Usually in spite of me. I'm not in control. I think control is the illusion.

simply put we exist becaus we are alive, why we are alive doesnt matter its what you do while you are alive that matters.
