Can you really say whatever you want?

Pastor Åke Green, Sweden, had a sermon about homosexuals in 2005. A few of the phrases I heard (roughly translated from Swedish) were: “Sexual abnormalities is a deep cancer tumour in the whole society. The Lord knows that sexually distorted people will rape the animals. Not even the animals are safe from the sexual needs or the fire that is lit in a human”, “Perverted is translated from the original text that says: One who sleeps with boys”, “Is homosexuality something you choose? Answer: YES, you choose it! You are not born to it! It is absolutely not like that or it would be a failure to people.”
Can you say that?
  • I have...
    come to the realization that we choose who we are unless it be by a physical or mental disorder. I know people say homosexuals have different things about them physcially but i still feel it is only the human body trying to adapt to the homosexuals mind set.

    Based on the kind of childhood someone has had makes a person choose (maybe not consiously) certain things later in life. This also includes what sex your attracted to. I know its not much of a choice because we didnt necessarily choose the kind of experiences we were going to have as a child but its still a choice made by our brains based on what we see fit as best and thoes choices we make at childhood usualy stick with us.
    Just as some people have a fear of bugs from a bad experience in childhood with them some people may be repelled by the oppisite sex from bad experiences in childhood with them.

    In other words we usually make a choice in our minds in childhood of whats good for us and whats bad for us and these choices stay in our minds in the subconscious dictating how we live the rest of our lives.

    But in the end we are all human beings and labeling certain human beings for their differences is only creating hate.

  • Can and should

    1 cor 13:1-13

    1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
    4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
    8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

    Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi:
    Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
    Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
    where there is injury, pardon;
    where there is doubt, faith;
    where there is despair, hope;
    where there is darkness, light;
    and where there is sadness, joy.

    O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
    to be consoled as to console;
    to be understood as to understand;
    to be loved as to love.
    For it is in giving that we receive;
    it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
    and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

  • Of Course you can
    it falls under that free speech clause. you can say anything you want as long as you are not hurting the person's in question.

    not only that, but the fact that people believe that the bible says its wrong also gives them that second clause: freedom of religion.

  • You can't say what you want in Chinese
    (unless you speak Chinese)

    You can say anything you want. As a matter of fact you do. You are saying them all the time in your mind. You tell yourself something all the time: "oh, I'm too fat", "what the hell are you looking at", "she has fat thighs", "damn, he's handsome", "Yes, baby, yes", "I'll never be able to do that", "how can he be going out with that wench"... etc.

    You can say anything you want as long as no takes your words to affect. If they do you might either get a return verbal response or a hidden feeling that you don't express right there and then when you here it-- you save it later for an anonymous forum.

    When you identify with the mind you become vulnerable to mind. That is the survival of mind is dependent on THOUGHTS. You here nice thoughts you feel good. You hear bad thoughts you feel bad. You hear thoughts that attack you and, since you IDENTIFY WITH THOUGHT, you are HURT. That is the danger with identifying with thought. You are easy to kill. You are hurting now because of things you heard about you. You run those thoughts over and over inside your head. Slowly you torture and place yourself in a prison.

    Identify above the mind. Identify with Awareness and a miracle happens. Thoughts just go by you.

    But for this to happen you have to train the mind. You have to gain understanding. To do this you must have an open mind and forget about your present beliefs. Believe in your present beliefs and you will be miserable for the rest of your life. You have to have the COURAGE to DOUBT your FAITH. Already, some of you are loading your Bible passages. That's okay, they will live in misery all their lives. Be different. Find courage to see new things. You need a different story. Your story that you run in your mind does not empower you. Run a new story. You are stuck in a story. To get out of that story you need another story. You just can't wake up. A more powerful story you need.

    If your background is Christian and you have the ability to reason, but also are open to new seemingly crazy ideas then you have the preparation to see beyond what you have. My recommendation is to read "A Course in Miracles". Read it. Do the exercises. You can find the book in bookstores or order online at Amazon.com.

    Language is a barrier to Truth and Reality. Say what you want, but don't you want to say something you haven't been able to? POWER awaits you. PEACE awaits you. DO "A Course in Miracles".

  • I'm a cancer tumour
    Even if it was two years ago, this still pisses me off in so many ways. Is a man right to say these things? When does the freedom of speech become just bashing people? The man is wrong, too! It's not something you choose!
    People had signs that said “I am a cancer tumour” after this, and people wanted to see this man in jail. But he was freed, since the court took more consideration of people's right to express religious bullshit. But isn't this a little too much? Did he really, really have the right to say that? I don't think so. But then, I'm both “sexually distorted”—a cancer tumour—and against Christianity. (This is why I have right to dislike Christianity.)
    A man cannot say those things, because we're all human. If we're born this way, he is not the person to judge us. We're merely able to judge ourselves equitably.
