What is "honor"

What happened to the world today? It seems all anyone ever thinks about is getting stronger, richer, more famous. Me me me. What happened to the days when you put your bloodline before yourself, when you stood for the weak, even if it met your own sacrifice?
  • What happened to the world today?
The world was betrayed by American politicians, especially the Bush administration who orchestrated and executed 9/11. It's okay, you don't have to believe that but the few good people left who have some power to change the course of the evil in today's American government are, little by little, eradicating the rats in office. The last rat, of course, will have to be exterminated for the world to see so that it will forever remain in the memories of potential power-hungry tyrants that their fate is the same whether they hold office in the Middle East or on sacred American soil.

P.S. Watch the movie, "The Departed", and keep in mind when you watch the last scene that 7/11 is a convenience store, 9/11 a convenient story.

  • This is what I mean by dishonorable(for guys)
    Abusing:
Family-It's your bloodline, without them you wouldnt be here, show some respect.
    Spouse/date-here's your sign

Guys hitting women- Call it male instinct, call it my upbringing. Whatever you call it just don't do it in my presence.Sure if you're joking around and she shoves you, shove her back, but common sense guys. We're usually physically stronger then them. It's not hard to tell when harm is intended.

    In a fight:
Solo vs group(unless solo makes the challange)
weapon vs unarmed(If you can't depend on your fists, don't fight)
    Striking from behind(grow some balls..)
striking a downed opponent(If they stay down,it's over, walk away with some dignity)
Going for the gonads(just pure desperation, better to lose with pride then win by cheap shots)

In other words I see honorable as man-to-man,face-to-face,and hand-to-hand.

  • Honor
Not everyone has forgotten Honor. This is obvious by the many posts on Honor including this one. Most might not live by the ideals of Honor, however we still look up to the ideals of Honor. If a few of the people who believe in it carry it on with them through their lives then it will live on and perhaps it might make a come back. Though I would like to point out that when people up held their Honor it was always to their advantage. So even Honor was a partially greedy concept to.

  • Apparently I am not the only one...
Indeed. What happened to the world today?
It seems like yesterday when kids would worry about being kids, when someone would help a person when they needed it...when family was above all.
i don't know what happened but hey, don't forget "haste makes waste". We are running so fast through life, that we forget what's really important, and forget to enjoy the journey.
But the world can go mad for all I care. Today's society can call my actions "disrespectful", but I do go out of my way to help a person on the street when they need my help.I stand up for the weak just because the weak-strong injustice types make me mad, and I do believe that my family is the most important thing of all.
Just to "lighten up" the comment...this week I stood up for the underappreciated John Adams. He was not perfect, but he loved his country, just as much as other founding fathers... and I got a "disgust" look from my teacher in return.
Anyways, I am just an adolescent though. I'll see if I'll get "infected" with the "adult" virus in the years to come. It's so sad though, because...the lives people are living today; they sound so empty....
